On 11/26/23 my vehicle was towed. It was not immediately taken to the impound lot but instead sat atop a tow bed of the tow truck and was parked in someones driveway overnight. Because I was concerned with where my vehicle was located. I tracked it down using my hidden air tag. This is a bad business practice as it is 7am and my car cant be retrieved from the impound because it was never taken to the impound by this tow company.Initial Complaint

On Friday, August 11 I parked in a parking lot that I later found out was pay to park (but didn't know it at the time). When I came out with my to-go coffee less than 5 minutes later, I found my car hooked up to a tow truck with all 4 wheels on the ground. **** from Hadley Towing & Recovery demanded I pay $150 (+6% credit card processing fee since I didn't happen to have that much cash on me) before he would unhook my car. Later, I found that Section ******* of the Marion County ordinance clearly states that "When the vehicle's owner is present and desires to remove the vehicle from a parking lot before it is towed, the vehicle shall not be towed nor a fee charged; however, if a tow truck is attached to the offending vehicle and at least two (2) tires have been lifted off the ground at the time the vehicle's owner arrives, the vehicle shall not be towed but shall be released to the owner upon cash payment of a reasonable fee, not to exceed one half of the regular towing fee in lieu of towing the vehicle."I called to share this information and request a full refund. They offered to pay half. I declined since I did not have 2 tires off the ground. This practice was not only predatory, but illegal. I was told there are multiple cameras in the lot (directly behind ********* - *********************************************************************) which would clearly show that my vehicle remained in its original spot with all 4 tires on the ground the entire time.Initial Complaint

Hi. I was at a nail salon in broadripple ************. I came out after receiving and paying for services and my car was loaded onto a tow truck bed. I spoke to the two men and they said I had to pay to park there. There was no sign posted at the entrance I came in (back entrance due to construction) I also have a photo of the sign saying paying customers of that ************** for free up to 2 hours and I was only there 1.5 hours. Also the salon never mentioned anything about paying to park when I made the reservation or got reminders, normally places would say that if youre required to pay thats why I wasnt expecting to even park in a lot where people pay. I asked if I had parked the next row over would it have been fine and they said they normally dont tow their during the day bc people are at the businesses. I explained that row was full when I arrived and since I had an appointment assumed theres no reason to pay even if I had seen the signs, which I didnt because they were not clearly posted. I offered to pay a full day parking fee even though it was supposed to be free to customers and they declined saying I owe $150 or they are taking the car to the tow lot. I drive a very old car and its bumper is held on with duct tape and I believe they chose to tow me because any damages would not cost them much at all. They had other nicer cars to tow as they pointed out the people who were also getting towed. They refused to believe I was allowed to park there. Also just discovered there was an extra $6 charged to my card and when I called to ask about it they said their is a 4% cc fee that was not disclosed to me at the time or running my card. The receipt isnt itemized to show this either so they charged $156 which is $6 over the max ****** allowed in *******.Initial Complaint

Car got towed for parking in the wrong parkinglot. Was driving perfectly fine. Came out an HOUR later to get my car and it was towed. So we picked it up from the tow company on the same night 7/13/23 and it immediately started making grinding, rattling, and terrible sounds. Called the tow company the next day to see if anything had gone wrong while being towed and they denied. Took it to the mechanic and the rear differential is completely cracked in half, the mechanic said it is 100% caused by being hooked on to the tow truck in the wrong place, and there is no doubt. The tow company refuses to believe they towed the car wrong on accident. They probably towed atleast 20 cars in that parking lot in about an hour so they werent doing the best towing job, they were just quickly trying to move them out which is probably where the mistake happened. So now my rear differential is completely cracked and they are refusing to budge or compensate for the repairs.
