On 12.5.2022 I worked with calling the dealership Indy Star Motors llc, located at *************************************************************** and worked with ****************** who I spoke with at the dealership. They told me they had a great truck for sale and it was having calls from all over that day with people looking to purchase it. I felt great about it and did get to facetime him to view the truck over the phone. It was my first time purchasing a vehicle online and explained that to him too. He seemed very open and honest. I got to see the truck through my phone and inquired about the underside and mechanical issues the truck may have had too. He told me he had replaced a lot of parts, from the battery, brake actuator, and couldnt find out what else was needed for the brakes, but there was a check engine light on due to that portion, and said they didnt have the code read to see which code was coming in. but they lowered the price $500 for that to help with the purchase, I made sure to ask also if the truck was considered safe and no frame issues and he said it was in great condition from top to bottom, and he inspected it himself and had no mechanical issues at all, once confirmed thats when I wired the funds as shown below. They verified it had come through and would take a day or two to ensure there were no issues, which I was fine with. They vehicle did not get accepted by a shipping company on their side until the day of the 12.13.2022. when it arrived it looked great, but noticed the entire truck had been resprayed as I got closer, and this was never mentioned to me at all, noticed there was Bondo one of the wheels that had hardened, from the dealership getting the truck worked on, and also saw it had under body rubbery black spray over spray on the corner of the body, and I had a moment to fully inspect the underside of the vehicle myself while the truck was starting to be disconnected and unloaded. I made sure to ask the driver about the rust and paint he even said it was a lot and not sure if it had frame damage but looked excessive too. When the driver unlocked the truck, it didnt open, and I saw in his face he looked confused. He used the key to open the truck, and while it was open, I believe I saw mold under the seat, and rust also under the dash too. The driver started the truck and when he did I noticed a cloud of smoke that came from the initial startup, It was white/blue in color and smelt like burning oil. When the driver kept attempting to put the truck into gear the truck would not budge at all. He attempted for 3 mins and said he couldnt get it to go into gear. I saw enough red flags and know that I was not going to sign any documents and called the dealer over the phone, I heard that the driver said while on the phone, if the truck gets off the trailer what if the guy cant get it into gear once its off the trailer ?, it sounded like the dealer was knew this truck had issues and was trying to dump it off on someone. I refused the delivery and signing of any docs and told the dealer that none of the information was disclosed to me over the phone, or in email at all and that he lied to me about the truck. The frame looks unsafe to even be on the road and could be rusting from inside also where it could create serious dangerous conditions later down the line. The dealer was trying to back peddle from getting the truck shipped back but was in the corner due to the driver understanding my concerns. I did not drive the truck at all, it never left the delivery drivers truck bed, and the truck was shipped back to Indy Star Motors. I have provided verbal and written notice that I did not want the truck and that they have misrepresented the vehicle and even while on the phone, tried to say the undercarriage was normal with no issues at all. Looked like frame damage, potential flood damage with a clean title, the truck did not just have surface rust at all, there is quite a bit of intergranular, exfoliation, and pitting corrosion. Entire sections look like they would need to be cut out and replaced. Mechanical ************* to be addressed from the truck smoking, oil burning smell, smoke upon start up, compression check, the dealer now has refused to give me my money back and keeps avoiding the email about the refund, and send more emails me a reminder to come have it picked up and delivered by their internal partner. I have tried to be more than fair, I have asked them more than a few occasions, verbally and via email for a refund, and they are avoiding that conversation with me at all. I believe if the frame was also inspected it would reflect a total loss along with the electrical issues it had when it was being delivered, there is never a reason why the main primary fuse box should ever be replaced ever. And this one had blown by being transported. I would like to know if the dealer had to sign a form showing the vehicle was inspected, who has that form and who signed it ?

    Business response

We have reached an agreement with the customer for a full refund minus $275 transport cost for shipping the vehicle to his address in *********. The check is in the mail.
