I took a 2 piece evening gown to nu Yale in corydon in to get cleaned they sent it to jefffersonvillr this was on 4/24/23 when I went to pick it up a week later with my husbands suit I realized my dress was ruined. It was initially silver at the top and black at the bottom. They said I could not just take the suit so I left. Contacted next day and advised they would try to fix it. The jacket to the dress was fine still silver but the dress was copper colored. In dealing with this miss I finally insisted upon the return on my dress 2 days before my grandson wedding and I do not believe they tried to do anything. I told them I had this dress for a fireman’s ball and purchased at 700.00 they wanted to offer me 200.00. I have only had the dress for 1 1/2 year. I have the receipt when I picked my husbands suit with the jacket to the dress and was charged 25.93. I feel if they were not capable of cleaning the gown they should have returned it and stated they didn’t have the capability. The gown was previously cleaned after I wore it to the fireman’s ball but my daughter took it to a cleaners in Lexington my. I can provide a picture if required but they will remember thisBusiness Response

We did offer her 200.00 because that is the price I found on line for that brand of evening gown dresses. If she has a receipt showing she paid 700.00 we will pay her the 400.00.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
They have always been aware that I do not still have my receipt I purchased the dress 16 months ago I have never withheld that information from them. They r aware u cannot buy a jeweled dress for 200.00. My jacket to my gown is silver and my dress is bronze. I appreciate your help in trying to resolve this but I think I am going to have to turn it over to the In attorney general’s office. If they want to settle for the 400.00 I will settle for that but I feel they are making a false offer since they already know I don’t have the receipt
Sincerely,

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because:
I am filing with the attorney general’s Nu Yale know they ruined my dress and they r trying to get by with a very cheap dress on a technicality on me still not having a receipt after 16 month’s. They r simply trying to take advantage of a individual and I am not going to let this go. Their disrespect was outrageousI wonder how often this happens and people do nothing about it
Sincerely,

We dropped off a suit (pants & jacket) and dress shirt to be dry cleaned at the end of October 2022 (last week sometime, specific date unknown). When the day came to pick up the items, we immediately noticed the jacket missing. Understandable annoyed, we asked the employee (later discovered she was the manager) where it was and she told us we didn't drop it off. She proceeded to raise her voice and cuss at us. We remained calm through this interaction and were told by the employee that the video camera would show whether or not we dropped off the jacket and also capture sound. Feeling slightly justified we contacted the corporate office only for her manager, Debbie, to defend her employee and not once apologize for her response to us. She said the camera in the store did not capture sound. Later (within a week) we were told the jacket was found, being sent **ck, and we could pick it up the next day. Went to pick up the jacket and immediately noticed it was not the correct jacket, although it was the same cut, perfect size, and almost exactly the same color, it had four buttons on the arm instead of 3 and a *** * **** patch on the inside when we purchased from a local store, ********** * in town. We brought the receipt and have requested a full refund. The last response from the store was the week of 11/7 asking us to send the pants to be matched. We will not send the pants at the possibility that those will be lost as well. The store has yet to contact us or provide a resolution and seem to be ignoring our continued calls. I would like a reimbursement for the suit. We also spoke with the owner, ***** who defending his employee stating "it is hard to find workers". When did it become reasonable for a company to use that as an excuse for poor business?Business Response

We have reached out to the client several times our policy is if they want paid for the whole suit they need to bring the pants in and we will pay for the whole suit.
We have told the customer this several times. The customer wants paid for the whole suit and keep the pants and that is not how we do it. We will be glad to pay for his suit when he brings the pants and wrong jacket *****

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********* and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The business cannot produce any written policy on how the lost clothing should be handled and this is unacceptable in my eyes as a dry cleaning facility. Since there is no written policy, I am left to believe they are simply making up this response as they are mad that we continue to push for an appropriate resolution. The is no reason I should have to send them pants specifically tailored to fit ****** other than they don't want us to have 2 pairs of pants.

On April 20, 2022, I took my husband's college letter jacket to Nu-Yale Cleaners in Jasper. I paid $19.16 for them to clean it, but I have yet to receive the jacket back. I have stopped in every two weeks to check on the coat, and it is still missing.Business Response

We have looked everywhere and cannot find we are willing to pay for it. However, customer has not given us an amount. Customer filled out a claim form and put priceless. We are still looking but has not turned up. We are willing to pay unfortunately we cannot pay for sentimental value.
