I purchased my 2023 NOBO 19.2 VIN#***************** on August 7, 2023. It is still under factory warranty. On June 13, 2024, Southland RV in Lagrange, GA submitted to Forest River warranty request for improper installation of roof rack which caused water intrusion and damage to RV. The authorized dealership has failed to get a response back from Forest River. I have reached out to *******, *****, *****, ********, *******, and ********* and have failed to get a call back or response. I would like Forest River to buy the RV back or authorize repair.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I would like to mention that I never heard back from Forest River. I only heard from the authorized dealership that they approved the repair.

It would have been nice to have been able to speak with Forest River directly and gotten my emails and voicemails returned.

I would like to thank the Better Business Bureau for the service they provide.

While on a one month long camping trip with our newly purchased Forest River Wolf Pup (purchased November 2023), we were pulling out of a gas station when I heard a big bang. I found the 'toy carrier' at the rear had collapsed- one of the bolts holding it up failed and the carrier had dropped to within a few inches off the ground. I managed to get to a Home Depot where I purchased a new bolt and installed it and repositioned the carrier in the vertical, as I was not sure it would not break again and this was a way to release the weight on the carrier. We went to a Camping World in Wisconsin (we had purchased the trailer at a Camping World in Florida). They confirmed, and put in their records that this appeared to be a product failure. They were not able to make the necessary repairs as we were on a trip and could not stay there the several days it would have taken to get warantee approval. When we returned to Florida we brought the trailer in to Camping World in Ocala (where we purchased the vehicle). They sent a request to Forest River for warranty repair, which was denied- this took almost 2 weeks for FR to reply. We went back and forth with FR trying to get them to understand that this was not, as they claimed, 'customer error'. In all, I had called FR 10 times with no responses to the messages I left on their voice mail. The latest denial came today, Monday June 10th, once again denying the claim saying that I had removed a pin to reposition the carrier and that was what caused to bolt to fail. In the 5 months we had owned the trailer I had never removed the pins or, readjusted the carrier they referred to. The first and only time I removed the pins was after the bolt failed and I had to reset the carrier in the vertical position so it would not drag on the ground. There were other denials of the warranty which I can detail later regarding failed stabilizers.

We have been in communication with this retail customer.
Per Forest River and the vendor, this is going to remain deemed as damage.

At this time Forest River respectively asks to have this case closed.

      Thank you.

      Customer response

      06/22/2024

I am rejecting this response because:

Forest River claimes that the retailer,  Camping World, agrees with them.  This is not true.  The service Camping World vendor in Oklahoma City, who first looked at the damage stated (workorder included) that there was "no visible accident damage or impact points" and that the only weight on the carrier at the time was an empty "Rhino" portable tank.  The Camping World vender in Florida,  where we purchased the trailer in November 2023, when we returned home had the same comment.  As a mater of fact, the CW service rep in Florida stated that she doesn't understand how Forest River could be declining the failure as 'customer error' and that it was obviouslya part failure.  As stated in a previous message,  the carrier was never moved or repositioned in the four previous months that this newly purchased trailer has been used.  Also attached is a photo of the failed bolt.

As an added note, besides the carrier failing, there were 11 (eleven) other items that failed on our initial trip with the trailer, all needing repair.

These photos did not upload on my response to Forest River on 6/22.  Can you please forward them?

      Business response

      06/27/2024

Based on the claim submitted, information provided, and the photos provided it appears that the bike rack was not used correctly.
There is no information provided that indicates a manufacturing defect is present.
For these reasons, this claim will respectfully remain denied.

The unit has been out of service since January 2024 with minor electrical components not working upon delivery July 2023. Despite numerous attempts for an authorized technician to fix it, safety events such as random smoking, sparks, and burned GFI outlets continue to occur. The unit is wired reversed with no guaranteed way to deem correction as stated by tech. The unit has caused significant physical sickness and worry for our family's lives repeatedly, and we find it unacceptable to trust its safety. We have been told numerous of times that the issue was resolved only to later experience smoke, sizzling components, burning outlets, electrical shock and ultimately situations that could have been fatal. We do not wish to risk our lives for this defected unit. It has been strongly advised thay my current health condition caused by the unit February 2024 places me at high risk for further sickness, injury. Therefore my safety is not guarenteed upon my own inspection, I am not a licensed inspector to be able to deem this unit as fixed and non hazardous. This business should be further investigated, we must facilitate a resolution that we can agree to.

      Business response

      06/13/2024

Forest River is sorry to hear this and views these issues quite seriously.  We have been in contact with repair facility, who indicated that the unit was repaired and extensively tested, with no further issues found. If the customer would like another inspection at a different facility, we would be happy to arrange that at no cost to the customer.

      Customer response

      06/14/2024

I am rejecting this response because:
Forest River has failed to properly fix the issue with attempts dating back to January 2024 since it has been out of service. With each attempt the recreational vehicle was inspected and we were ensured by your licensed technician that the issue had been resolved which was indeed a failed attempt which could have resulted in fatalities. It has been documented that this recreational vehicle has been faulty from the start with original electrical issues upon arrival in July 2023.  The unit has caused me injury and it is recommended by doctor and legal that for our safety that we do not reenter the it. We request that the manufacturer. Forest River  repurchase the recreational vehicle as the only resolution to settle this matter.

      Business response

      06/21/2024

We stand by our previous offer as we understand that all issues have been resolved with unit. Under the terms and conditions of the warranty provided at time of purchase, records do not indicate substantial defects.

If there is additional information in regard to doctors or other recreational vehicle certified personnel, we would gladly review it upon receiving it.

      Thank you.

      Customer response

      06/21/2024

I am rejecting this response because:
We need to see the initial inspection from when the recreational vehicle was initially manufactured

      Business response

      06/27/2024

We stand with our previous position, as we believe all issues have been resolved with unit. Under the terms and conditions of the warranty provided at time of purchase, our records do not indicate any substantial defects.  The dealer has asked to inspect multiple times to verify any issues. Forest River is willing to cover the cost of an independent electrician to inspect, if necessary.

If there is additional information in regard to doctors or other recreational vehicle certified personnel, we would gladly review.

      Thank you.

I bought this trailer in March of 2022 from ***************** in *******, ** which is now out of business. In December/January of 2023 I took it in to ***************** to get the floor fixed under the 1 yr manufacturer warranty before they went out of business. I now have the same issue with my floor and my slideout isn't working and has to have all the parts replaced on top of ******* ***** in ********, Ca telling me that my floor in the trailer was built wrong and needs to be rebuilt. Paperwork is attached. I am paying out of pocket to fix the slide out which I feel I should be reimbursed for. I've spoken to ***************************** at Forest River to try and get this resolved and my claims approved. At one point after I had my floor fixed I spoke to ****** to let her know i was having the same issue and her response was "Oh, I've heard of that happening". The last time I spoke with her after they denied the approval for my claims I brought up that she said that and her response was "Well, I don't remember exactly what I said to you. It's basically a he said/she said situation". The labor on fixing the floor alone will be close to $*********. I am having to pay $******* to fix my slideout which has never been worked on by anyone and they denied the claim for both issues because they say I've had them fixed before. The floor yes but the slideout I haven't. And ***************** didn't fix it right the first time. Apparently they only charged Forest River $******* when they fixed the floor before they went out of business. I haven't even had the trailer for 3 years and am having serious issues. It is a 2022 Forest River ******** ******** **** ******. They should fix these issues or replace my trailer with a new one. I paid $********* for this trailer. VIN *****************

      Business response

      04/12/2024

Forest River is sorry to hear about these issues.   Upon review, we show all warranty expired March of 2023, with floor repairs performed December of 2022. The next correspondence was in September of 2023.

As a goodwill offer, we will cover transport back to factory to repair floor and slide. When completed, we would ask you to inspect and approve.

      Customer response

      04/12/2024

I am rejecting this response because:
I would like more clarification on the response. It says you will cover transport back to factory for repairs. Does that mean you are also going to cover the cost of repairs? And your factory in *******? You have to facilities in **********. Would it be going to one of those?

      Business response

      04/19/2024

The unit would need to be repaired in *******, as the products produced in ********** facilities are quite different from products produced in ******* facilities. We would repair, with the only out-of-pocket expense for the customer being the return transport back, upon completion of the repair process.

      Customer response

      04/23/2024

I am rejecting this response because:
I have already paid ******* ***** to fix the slide out so that doesnt need to be repaired but why does it have to go to ******* to repair the floor? I cannot afford a flight, truck rental, gas and time off of work to go to ******* to pick it up and transport it back. If its manufactured by your corporation the floor should be the same no matter what facility builds it, correct? I can understand the slide out because of the parts but the floor should be able to be repaired at one of the ********** facilities. I need it to be handled in ********** please. I look forward to hearing back from you.

      Sincerely,

I Purchased a new 2024 forest river grey wolf 18rr in October of 2023. Since then it has been back and forth constanly to the camping world where we purchased it in london ** for one repair after another. The heat would not work, the water heater would not work, and now the whole side is warped and the metal is coming off, and this is just after maybe 300 miles. We have been without the camper for at least 2 of the 5 months we've owned it. Now we've been informed the repair that is currently being made, (which we are 2 weeks in to), to the side of the camper will take an additional 4 weeks just to get the parts in plus the time it take camping world to make the repairs. It seems to me that forest river is currently putting a bunch of junk out on the market, and they won't even answer the phone when you call there. It's pretty sad that I make a monthly payment and have to pay insurance on a new camper every month, but I am unable to use it because it's a piece of c*** It only comes with a one year warranty, and it's beginning to look like it's going to stay in the shop that long. It looks to me like they would just replace the camper with a new one so we could move on and get some use out of our purchase.

Purchased a brand new forest River Ozark travel trailer in September 23. When we picked it up at the dealer we reluctantly took possession after being informed they had it already in for service because they had issues with the front slide not operating properly. Once we walked the unit we noted some issues mainly cosmetic (dents in metal slide and rear) not the end of the world when we took possession. Used twice, I sent the list of 9 issues which included fridge not working, fridge door falls off, driver rear level **** stripped out, scratch on rear and side of unit, radio speakers not working, slide not working correctly, door screen torn when installed We dropped the unit off on 11/27. we were finally told on 2/24 via voicemail the unit was complete. We got there and noticed the screen was fixed, the **** was fixed but nothing else, they marked on the paperwork the fridge was fine and so was the slide. The stripe was terrible, it was installed over the replaced panel. It was misaligned and had a bubble in it with some sort of tar on the side of the unit.also a thick kitchen rug in center by the back slide was soaking wet. Apparently there was a bad leak. We had no choice to leave the unit at Beckleys in ** . I was told on Monday they shipped it to the Beckleys in ******** for a water test. I asked to them to keep the unit there as I felt new oxford couldnt complete the tasks listed. The unit is currently at ******** and they diagnosed a lot of issues with the initial warranty work the fridge is defective. The slide was resealed around the gasket and they found the window leaking and will replace the window and replace the refrigerator. There is also water damaged trim. the floor was also damaged as this sat wet possibly from 9/28 2/24 with water all over the floor. The response from ** on the speaker issue was read instructions. No response at all from forest River, left several emails and voice mails . Forest River need to call

I am rejecting this response because we had to lay $4000 for another unit.    Forest River only offered $500 towards the new unit. Or pay additional 3400 for an exact model like ours 3rd option was for them to tow the defective unit to ******* to repair?   Seriously.      And you guys wont call me back.     .      We traded for another model thats still a Forest River so want the $4000 covered we paid out of pocket.        Its a 2024 model.   Just like the one you sold us that has water damage and defective as a whole.

2023 East to West silver lake 26KRB VIN#***************** When camper was manufactured, they shot the staples thru the aluminum siding causing the siding to bubble out and not attached to the actual side of the camper. Purchased defective unit without knowing. Only thing holding the siding on is the silicone and awning awning brackets. The dealership only got 3 hours to fix the problem and only fixed some of the siding when all of it needs taken off and fixed. I have pictures from the dealership. The ** unit freezes up when in use. Stated they cant test that cause its winter. Manuf never plugged in the electric water heater and when friend of mine tried it completely shocked him. The electric part does not work. All windows in camper have wrinkling wall paper around them and all they did was put more paper over it cause it it to look even worse and didnt even do all windows. The floor is scratching out from the slide but they wont fix cause we didnt take camper in to get service at 60 days of purchase. We were never told we had to bring it in to do that. The awning does not fold up all the way forcing us to have to push on it to fold. When we plug into a 50 amp service, the camper is electrifying and you cannot touch anything metal. Dealership stated it didnt do it to them. Ive tried getting things fixed that are supposed to be fixed under warranty and they will not and I just want a new camper that is not defected. I cant drive down the highway in my camper without being scared the siding is going to fly off and hurt someone. I just bought the camper in June 2023. *** tried working with camping world of ********* ******* and they have stopped talking to me. We even bought extended warranty. I want my ****** trade money, money I already paid, and what I owe still on this camper to purchase another one. We traded a perfect Rv just too small for us for something I cant even drive. Ive drove 78 miles one way numerous times to shop to fix warranties unfixed.

I hope they can fix the issues in a quick timely manner, she did state 2-6 weeks. It is now camping season, and the issues should of been fixed when I had the camper in the shop multiple times in off season and was not. If the camper is not fixed to satisfactory, I really would like a exchange on a better built unit.

I puchased a brand new 2021 Forest River Cherokee Grey Wolf 23DBH travel trailer. I also purchased an extended warranty that wouls cover 5 more years. We were told the warranty covered everything. There are 2 doors to enter the trailer. We used it 4 times in 2021. We then put it on a permanent campground site for the next 2 years.Near the end of 2023 we were having trouble with the doors operating correctly. The forward door was separating and pulling apart. We stopped using this door and only used the other until we could get it looked at. I contacted ************** where we bought it. We were told to take it to their ********** **. store to be checked. The mechanics there told us Forest River was having problems with these doors because there is no frame inside. We were then told the warranty would not cover doors. I paid over $2200 for the warranty. They told me Forest River actually redesigned the doors with a frame after they started having trouble withthem. I need both doors reoplaced as you can see in my invoice from them. I believe since it is a design flaw they should replace the doors for me. We are going to have a complete loss of use of this triler if the doors do not get replaced.

July 24th 2023 I returned ** with a current list of 20 warranteed problems with the *** Which included the already listed problems plus the Water pump shook the whole camper and was very loud. Besides the kitchen sink leak there was a kleak under sink coming from water pump. The awning motor was making noise and it was coming loose at top. The bed mattress was breaking down already. The whole bed was loose and sinking. The blinds kept coming loose. The screen in the door keeps coming loose and falling out. Had to purchase a metal screen. . Dealer installed steps were rubbing the door raw. (Everything twisted) Random buttons, plugs and such coming loose. Window above bed had gap where wind and water and bugs came through. Wallpaper coming loose. After maybe 6 weeks of ******* waiting on parts and oks to repair I picked up the camper. Where they admitted to not being able to level the ** either. They fixed some of the items. Some they didnt. While in their possession something hit the driver side about storage door leaving a crimp in siding. While driving vehicle home happy to finally take a summer trip the trailer brakes stopped working. I had problems with the slide out still. ************** of Forest River now passed me on to ******************.So in September i was told to take the ** back to ******* . No brakes and all. I did have my mechanic fix it. Apparently some pin in harness from trailer was loose in the connection. And we managed to get slide out closed again. It was returned with even more additional problems. A crack has appeared in shower stall. Just in the corner where there are no creases, or connections. Same old problems never fixed or started up again. Doors misligned, Water pump making loud vibrating noises.Control panel still not working correctly. Slide out still hanging out at a angle. gap at bottom. Screen never fixed. Kitchen sink laminate coming loose. Bluetooth speaker which would never sync up wont even turn on now. Im sure Im missing some things and I am not 100% sure on all dates mention but are to the best of my knowledge correct. Now **************** has told me to tale ** back to dealer for repairs which later not approved. Want pictures and measurememnts taken before sending to *******. Then Forest River is suppose to send someone to ******* to look at it themselves. Then back to having it sent back to ******* upon approval. Then ******* now is notified that Forest River is passing the buck to ******* because *******s numbers indicate something is twisted. They cannot level it. See gaps where there should be none. Slide out works only sometimes. So upon getting these ******* will come look at it. Now ******* has denied their claim. The ** has been at ******* almost 2 months. I have asked for a replacement or credit toward another *** Which got the response from ****************. We would bring the unit back, inspect for repairs, and send the unit back. All units a deemed repairable, until determined otherwise. It is very seldom that a unit is replaced, and furthermore we do not participate in trading or buy backs. On 12-22-23 I was notified the trailer was all fixed and was being returned to *************** where i bought it. The repair invoice did not include fixing crack in shower. I brought this to their attention. Eventually they oked those repairs by the dealer. Over 2 months later i still have not received my ** back. Changing a axle is very indicative of why most of the breakages occured. Since the ** has been out of hand I do not know what other things have broken or will break because of this. I asked for a extended warranty as the original one expired while in their hands. The seriousness of all that has occured and having NO warranty now brings me to not wanting this lemon back. *************************

Forest River has reached out to the customer multiple times to offer a review of these concerns with them, but we have not been able to make contact. We've sent another email this morning and remain hopeful that we can be in contact with the customer soon.

      Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because: Given only 7 days to accept or receive Forest River response. To the response that they have reached out to me I havent heard from this year. Untill after filing t

my complaint. Outside of the BBB Forest River has reached out in just the last few days. showing a willingness to make right but it is too early to tell if they will do so.

I am rejecting this response because: I reached out to ****************** when i received the BBB notificatiion. Sending a email Friday March  22. Five days ago. I am only allowed 7 days to accept or refuse. No response has been made by ******************** or anyone else. I also was able to do a walkthrough of RV. Where many of the concerns were dealt with there are still more. Cabinet door under bathroom sink misaligned.
      closet door by bed misligned
sliding windows on drivers side hard to open
laminate on sink counter still loose when they told me it was fixed.
      smoke detector not working. (battery?)

As I am appreciative that someone higher up has taken up the case it still appears it has no importance to the company in general.

I am rejecting this response because: I have responded and my negotiation was ignored. Following is my response. ******************** ,
It has been over 9 days since I reached out to you. I had high hopes someone was serious to finally take care of our problem. I am very confused to why a company like Forest River cannot take care of their customer especially when their product was so obviously defective. You do not change axles, wheels, tires brakes just as a courtesy. I believe I have been more than patient. I would also like to point out the ** was suppose to be my home over the winter in the south. Not having it and still making payments on it while also spending thousands(which is 4x what I would of paid at a park) for housing after basically sleeping in a garage until it got too cold. If you cannot make this right by the end of the week I have been been told I should make reports to the *** and the Indiana state attorney generals office. Beyond that will incur more costs.
Seeing that whatever problems that you have fixed which needed a axle changed put enormous strain throughout the **. Causing many of the known problems and any others that havent been discovered. Example being the the windows which are near impossible to open discovered March 15th.
I propose a full refund of purchase price plus the rough estimation for upgrades i purchased at **********************. This coming to a estimated $30,000. I think this is more than fair since I am not at this time asking for reimbursement for other expenses incurred from this gross negligence.
From this point I must advise you any phone calls will be recorded if you do not want to correspond via emails.

We purchased a 5th wheel camper from them. In the event that the bathtub cracked, we found that there was nothing supporting under the tub. The quality of this camper could not of passed any inspections what so ever. The tub leaking caused the floors to rot throughout the camper. We have made multiple attempts to speak with the manufacture, and to this day have not heard one word back from them. We paid for the extended warranty, which has told us they will not cover nor refund our money. (TOTAL WARRANTY'S *********) I am attaching a time line of this situation with just an idea of what we have gone through...We are requesting our money back that we paid for the additional warranties, due to they will not cover the situations that we were told they would. We also are requesting a value of depreciation for our 5th wheel.

Forest River is sorry to hear of this situation; however, review of your file indicates we have had two conversations regarding this unit. First was May 28, 2022, where we encouraged scheduling with selling dealer to file a claim for coverage. Our second conversation of November 10, 2023, indicates we were only asked for a part number for a tub pan. Based on this review, Forest River cannot accept liability for damage described.

As for the extended warranty, this is not an agreement through Forest River. Your selling dealership sells these independently through their finance department.

If there is more information to review, please email ************************************.

      Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because:

I have attached a brief email trail. You indicating that  that you have only had 2 conversations with us is false. if you check your employee emails, you will see differently. ************************* we have been in contact with multiple times. He advised us to send in a quote in which we did.

These emails we are forwarded two him after my husband FINALLY getting in touch with someone as he indicated this was the first he had heard. Funny when i went to forward the emails, everything had already been sent to him. We were instructed to send emails to ************************* as well as they were sent to your

      Owner relations department/email.
