I bought a 2009 dodge ram **** on March 25th 2022 from this ray skillman. First I paid 18k for it plus the gap insurance and supposedly the best warranty they allowed for a truck that age. When I bought the vehicle I was under the impression that it had been serviced. Well that was not the case at all. The front end had an axle boot blown out which had to be there when I bought it because the previous owner had the part sitting in the backseat ready to be put on. Second my transmission fluid was extremely low and my transmission just kept banging into gear. My oil was low and they didn't even check my tires because my valve caps were corroded on. The only thing I didn't have to pay for was the front end work. Next I had an exhaust manifold failing. They told me my warranty wouldn't cover it because it hadn't totally failed. It had bolts snapped off at the heads and was hanging. I still have the receipt for it because that was 700 dollars. Now I'm spending 800 on back breaks because they didn't check my breaks either. I have put more money into this truck than I paid for my warranty already. And now the second ray skillman told me it doesn't cover anything with rust which the first one did not tell me. So now I'm concerned if something happens with my motor. They're gonna pin it on me because of a ***** part causing the failure or something dumb like that. It was my first time buying my own vehicle and this place has made me never want to deal with ray skillman again. Plus the kid I bought it from is never anywhere to be found. No matter how many times I call his number or the shop asking for him he's always at lunch or preoccupied. They lied to me and sold me a truck they hadn't looked at and if they did look at it then they need new service people because so much basic stuff was missed on this and I'm paying for it. So what good was a warranty or anything for. They just wanted to be rid of this truck and lied to do it because they knew I had no experience.Business response

This vehicle and customer have come back to the Dealership on 4 different occasions. During each visit and complaint each issue was handled by the ************* I have enclosed copies of all of the repairs. Ray Skillman ************* was not made aware of any other issues or problems concerning the ******************************************************************************* Brakes. Their desired settlement of a Refund on a vehicle that was Sold on 3/25/2022 is not something the Dealership would consider. We will however be willing to look at the 2009 Ram in Service and see what issues and complaints the customer is having and try to help with repairs.Customer response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I made them aware multiple times about the exhaust manifolds. That ray skillman was the one that made me aware of it when they fixed my front end. They said at the time that it had not fully failed so it wasn't something that would be took care of. I take it to another shop in greenwood and it had multiple bolts snapped off at the head that had to be drilled out. That cost me 700 dollars. Second they didn't say anything about the fact that they didn't service my truck. My oil and transmission levels were both low and my valve stem covers were corroded on so I couldn't even check my tires. I wouldn't of even known the manifold was going bad had they not said something to me. They said they heard a knocking when they were under my truck repairing my cv axle boot and front drive shaft. So that is not truthful at all and very frustrating. I would atleast like the money back for the manifold. I didn't want a refund for the truck I love the truck it's this ray skillman that is making this a bad experience. I want my money back that ive had to already put in the truck because of things that weren't addressed when the truck was supposedly "serviced".

******************** payment $500 They put me in the wrong car for two weeks, bright the right one with a slow leaking tire, passenger side wont lower I am within my 30days to return the vehicle. Told by the bank that all I need to is return the car and they car lot is to send in a letter informing that I no longer wanted the car due to please see the attached documents. I also called and speak with Les and he tells me that he isnt doing the return. *** I also spoken with about it this matter and he tells me that the bank tells him that I have no choice but to be in this vehicle. Spoke with the bank and Les on three way and the bank was explaining to him about what was needed and he tells them as well as myself that because I want to speak with an attorney that he wasnt going forward. The car is only worth ****** at blue book value and I am paying ********. I have not even made my first payment on this vehicle. Our original conversations started on 10/12/21 with this customer. Ray ********************** employees had been working on and off for 5 months to help her with the purchase of a vehicle. I have included a small sample of some of our texts with this client. She was made well aware of the vehicle she was buying the pricing and the payments. The Ray Skillman ********** does not have a return policy. Once a vehicle is sold and delivered and the contract funded, we are no longer responsible for that vehicle. The current situation that this concerned party finds themself in is between her and the bank.Initial Complaint

I was shopping for a vehicle online and came across a 2020 Kia ******* LX FWD 4D Sport Utility on the Ray Skillman website. The vehicle is listed at $2990.00. The website states that is the pricing information for 2/18/2022. The Vehicle Vin is included and I was advised the vehicle is in stock. On the website, there is an option to begin the purchase process at home. I went thru steps to tell me what my monthly payment would be with a 24 month financing option. I also set up time for a test drive. The site then tells you a representative will contact you to complete the process. When I was contacted via text, I asked for ****** (the representative who texted me) to call me as I wanted to inquire about purchasing for the full list price of $2990.00 same day with no financing. When ****** called me I told him the financing option was fine from the process I started online but I was more interested in purchasing for the full price, cash. ****** told me that was an option but then went on to discourage me from the cash option stating there were no good deals available. I told him that the I was interested in purchasing for the full listing price of $2990.00. ****** said that is not the price. I said that is the price listed on the Ray Skillman website and on all of the pages when you begin the purchase at home. ****** quickly became irritated and rude and informed me he did not care what the website said the care was 29k and he was not willing to talk about anything else. I informed him that the site offers you to begin the purchase at home and as a consumer this is very misleading and deceptive and to begin the process and get an estimate of a monthly payment, all to wait to hear back from a representative who not only does not honor the price on their website but to say he does not care what the website says as this is all of the information a consumer has to go off of. He also began the conversation by stating the car is out front ready for me to test drive and when I informed him I would be filing a complaint her told me to do what I had to do.Business response

Unfortunately, with any advertising and or promotion, errors, misspelling, and pricing mistakes can occur. As we have always tried to do our very best due diligence some things can be overlooked. The Ray Skillman auto group does have a disclaimer in place on the bottom of our Web Site Used Car pricing page (see attachment) stating this. A phone number is also given to the customer if there are any questions. Since **************** was doing other Automobile shopping on-line she would have noticed the huge discrepancy in pricing and that the advertised price was in error. Her resolution for us to sell the vehicle at the On-line pricing is not feasible. Most consumers that have been doing research for a vehicle would know that a Vehicle of that Year, Make, and Model can not be sold for that amount. On line shopping is definitely a Great Way to purchase products. The Ray Skillman ********** has never intentionally mispriced or mislead a consumer with false advertising. As per our disclaimer we have always let the consumer know that our Web Site is not perfect but never misleading.

I purchased a Smart card from salesman ************************* on 8/2/21 On my way home I noticed black piece of tape on dash to peel it off to discover a lite engine light.Bad business practice. They want me to bring car back fir repair. Not happening.Full refund is what I wantBusiness response
