April 13, 2024 I contacted Clear Contractors about a basement project, I entered into a contract with Clear Contractors about May 14, 2024 and submitted two-thirds of the total as a requested down payment. After not receiving any communication I contacted the company in June, 2024 and was told that the Project Manager was no longer with the company and another individual was taking his place. Up to this point I have been given nothing but excuses, there are lapses in hands-on construction time, late arrivals, last minute requests to do work and no shows. To top it off, the workmanship is shoddy. In 4 months all I have is drywall , a door and open electrical (not live). They have requested a progress payment when no progress has been made. The company was notified about the length of time it is taking to no avail. September 2, 2024 I asked for a completion date, I am still waiting for that information. The painter came by last Wednesday. I need that room like yesterday but they dont seem to care.

    Hello *******,

First off, we truly want to apologize for the delays on your project. We know that is very frustrating and we're doing what we can to resolve this as quickly as possible. As we talked about Wednesday, September 11th, your job will be completed this upcoming week. Also, during the phone call we discussed the quality issues you had regarding the drywall work and you mentioned that those have already been taken care of and resolved. That was part of the reason for the delay. We wanted to get the right person to come back and fix the drywall to a higher degree of quality. We also discussed giving you a $500 refund because of the delays you've experienced. You requested for us to give you a quote for additional work on the other side of the room. We understand if you no longer want us to do that work, just let us know your decision. Once again, we truly apologize for the delays and we're doing everything in our power to get your project completed as soon as possible. We value you as a person and a client. Please let us know if there are any other concerns that you have.

I'm certain that the ceiling was to extend to the other room because i selected a stopping point, but you said it was not included, that's why i asked what it woul cokst to extend it, I absolutely don't want that quote. At this point I am still getting excuses and the original job has not been completed. The owner did come by Friday for a list of everything that needs attention and I look forward to hearing from him in a day or two hopefully. This is taking entirely too long with one push.back after the next and I am sour, my work is on hold.

Thank you for staying up to date with this complaint and I want to again apologize for the delays. We had an issue on our end when it came to verifying the flooring change but thankfully we got that swapped out before it was installed. Sadly we had to wait on shipping since it wasn't an in-stock item... Like you said in the update, I was able to come by Friday, October 18th, to review all the punch list items for your project and thankfully the items are few and minor. I was able to talk to everyone involved and schedule the repairs. Like we've discussed via text message, we have the drywallers scheduled to come by Tuesday, October 29th to mud around the outlets so there are no gaps after the outlet covers are installed. And while there, I will also have him fix some preexisting issues on the west wall that were present before we started the job just so it looks as good as reasonably possible. I also talked with our ********* today and he's scheduled for Thursday, October 31st to adjust the trim around the pocket door so there are no gaps and make sure the trim outside the room is also correct.
