We embarked on a custom home build with Sublime Homes. We were impressed by their attentiveness, portfolio of design elements, and their excitement to partner with us in this process rather than just be our builder. As time passed with planning and preparation along with $20,000 committed during the pre-construction agreement, we were assured that the cost of our build would be in a specific range of money per square foot (3 separate times spanning a period of 4 months) which fit into our overall budget. Because of this we felt certain that the home was in our price range and we were committed to Sublime moving forward. After weeks of waiting for the bidding process to complete, our bid came in at 30% over budget of what we had been assured of just weeks before. Yes, building materials have gone up over the past few months but they continued to tell us that wed be within that range. Never did they once caution us that material was rising to levels that would take us out of our price range let alone a 30% increase. We showed Sublime our inspiration home along with discussing all of our wants and needs for the project. They even knew the exact location along with the elevations for the home as we already purchased the lot. With that said, how could they miss our budget by a whopping 30%??? We would have thought that since we designed our home with the parameters set forth by Sublime, who should be the experts, that they would have worked with us on their exorbitant GC fee that they charge. Instead, Sublime must have thought that since we committed so much time and money already to the project that we would still move forward with the build regardless of their bait and switch tactics. The partnership was nothing more than a very poor customer service relationship. ******************** made it seem like we were the ones reaching for something that was never tangible in the first place. Misleading, untrustworthy and greedy is our personal opinion of Sublime Homes.
