I purchased a 2016 ******* from this company in April 2023. I had only had the vehicle 40 days and started having problems. They took the vehicle and changed the oil and then it would no longer run. They changed spark plugs and determined injector #4 was not working. The next day I returned the vehicle, and they said something had come unplugged. Then they got it running and on May 25th the engine light came on. I took it to my local mechanic. He said possible catalytic convertor went out and a stress pulley was out on the right side of the vehicle. I contacted them and they said it is no longer under warranty. I told them that due to all of the mechanical issues I have had since the purchase of the car that they should be willing to work with me on a solution and they refuse.

To all parties concerned. To my knowledge, there has been no mechanical issues with this vehicle other than the injector harness plug being loose after the customer had the oil changed at her preferred mechanic. Our conclusion was that the mechanic had inadvertently knocked injector harness plug loose. I was told that her mechanic had change several items without success in his attempt to repair the vehicle. The vehicle drove into his shop fine and after the oil change, it wouldn't run correctly. Things happen. At this time (5/2/2023, 130,874 miles) the vehicle was technically out our warranty. I told Ms. ****** that if she could get it over here, I would take a look at it. We worked it in and found the loose plug to the injector harness. We plugged it in correctly and let her have it have it back. The car was running fine at that point. We did a one time courtesy repair at no cost to her. About a week ago, she had called the sales office (not the warranty number) and asked if catalytic convertors were covered under the warranty. She was told that the weren't. She said okay and hung up. I hadn't heard any more about this until we received the letter from you all. I am in charge of all warranty issues here at Purkey's Used Cars. My number is on the warranty. Ms. ****** initialed that she was aware of that. I still haven't heard from her on this issue. I could have offered suggestions. It is most likely that she does not need a catalytic convertor but rather an oxygen sensor. Catalytic convertors are clearly not covered, but we are always here to help and I could most likely helped had I been given the opportunity. As in many misunderstandings, lack of communication is the cause. This could have been handled much differently on Ms. ******** part. I certainly wish I had been given the opportunity to offer my suggestions on this issue. I believe that we have already proven that we were willing to go above and beyond. Thank you for your service at the Better Business bureau. We certainly appreciate you. Ms. ******. I wish you the best of luck and I am truly sorry that you feel we have not upheld our end of the deal here at Purkey's Used Cars. Thank you.
