I began shopping for mortgage lenders in February 2023 and found Farmers Bank ** ****** to have a very competitive rate so I reached out to the lender and began working with one of the bank's employees who represented himself to be a senior loan officer named Wakas ****** ****** or (Will) as he called himself. I had a disagreement with this gentleman early on with regard to locking in a rate and asked to speak to his supervisor whom he never put me in contact with. In fact, I called the bank and spoke to another loan officer who called himself Zach who was supposed to put me in contact with a supervisor. I never heard from him again. The next day Will called me back and insisted that he could lock in the agreed upon mortgage rate so we began the loan process and I never heard from his supervisor. I paid to have the property in question appraised with Farmers Bank ** ****** and continued with the loan process. Early in March mortgage rates began to dip and I asked Will if we could lock a new rate in and he said that we could but that I would need to pay nearly $***** dollars extra to secure the new rate. I found a new lender and communicated to Will that I would no longer require his bank's services. The new lender attempted to reach out to Will to secure a copy of Farmers Bank ** ******' home appraisal that I paid for but he has no legal requirement to supply, so he declined. I'd like an explanation from the manager of Farmers Bank ** ****** regarding this business practice.
