            I adopted a dog (********** ***** *** * *** ******* ***********) from ACCT in Philadelphia on 22 July 2023. I received multiple emails over the next several days stating that I could apply for Companion Protect coverage for my new pet, with acceptance based upon the shelter medical exam (which stated my dog was healthy), as long as I did so within 10 days. After 10 days, another medical exam would be required for my pet. I did apply within the 10 days but was told that my pet's medical condition would not be covered as it was considered to be a pre-existing condition. Based upon their marketing email, as long as the shelter did not identify the issue with my pet and I applied within the 10 day limit, it should be covered. The shelter did not note that my dog had any medical issues. This is false advertising on the part of Companion protect as it is stated twice in the multiple emails I received from them after adopting my pet that the shelter assessment of my dog's health was all that would be required for coverage.

            This agency continues to fail its customers. Reimbursements don’t come in the time they are required to come. I have had several checks re-issued and they still have not come. I do not recommend them. Go with a different animal protection agency. If I could give this company zero stars, I would.
