I checked into my hotel room around 9:45PM. I went to the front desk and the male worker was on a personal video (speaker) call that took about 5 minutes of me standing there for him to get off of before helping me. The employee gave me my room key and gave a detailed explanation of where the hotel room was. I was traveling alone, and as a female in an unfamiliar town, I closed the door and used the guard lock. I noticed the night stand had water rings on it that hadn’t been cleaned, but was too tired to change rooms. Within 45 minutes of me arriving, I heard the unlock and someone tried to open the door. I let out a scream, because I was terrified. I gathered myself to go look to the peep hole to see if I could see anyone. When I sent to look it the peep hole, I noticed it had toilet paper shoved in it. I called the front desk and the male employee answered and said that he didn’t realize the room was booked and had tried to show it to someone who wanted to see it before renting it. There was no apology and he quickly got off of the phone. I didn’t have extra money to stay elsewhere and didn’t feel comfortable trying to talk to the employee knowing that he tried to enter my room, so I tried my best to sleep but did not feel safe. I contacted the hotel where the manager on duty said they were “very sorry” that his happened. I also did a survey online and got an email from the regional manager apologizing for what happened but nothing else. Both on 09/18/23. I let the manager on duty know that I would like a refund and she said the regional manager would have to process that and she would call. On 09/20/23 I had not gotten a call from the regional manager, so I called back. The manager on duty said that I would have to contact ********** for the refund since I booked my stay through them. She denied the refund when ********** contacted her stating there was no reason and stopped answering the phone when ********** tried calling back. Reservation ID ********
