I had a preventive double mastectomy and breast reconstructive surgery in March of 2022. I got a terrible infection in my right breast that made me lose my expander also lose my right implant. I was on the wrong antibiotics for around 8 weeks. I had to be admitted to the hospital when my drain accidently got pulled out and they did a culture on my infection. I had to be on IV antibiotics for 5 days. I was off work for 6 months due to everything I was going through. I was able to go back to work for a week a my incision dehisced on my right breast and they had to take my implant. I had to wait 3 months so it could heal. The emotional and mental stress it put on my body was a lot. I got my expander in September of 2023. I still have my expander. I called in October to set up my surgery and I found out my doctor quit. She didn't even reach out to me and give me a heads up. So I had to start all over. I went on 02/21/24 and they truly seemed sorry for me and they were going to fix the mess up that the previous done. On 02/23/24 they scheduled surgery. It was supposed to be on 02/27/24. But the day before my surgery they were only concerned about money. They said I had to pay $1526.00 before the doctor would do my surgery. That is when I truly found out that they didn't care at all what I was going through. It's not my fault that the doctor did not do what she needed to do to make sure I was ok. They should have wanted to fix the huge mess up just because. I work in healthcare. I lost almost $9,000.00 per month. I couldn't lift more then 5 lbs. I had a drain almost the entire 6 months I was off. Do they care about all of that? No they just care about how much money they can make. So now I still have my expander and my left breast looks terrible. I also found out that know other plastic surgeon will fix another doctors mess up. So now I am the one that pretty much gets the screwed. I have totally lost respect for doctors that think they are better then everybody else.
