On 9/24/2022, I purchased ******* ******** ******* ***** ** floor material from Floor and Decor. I was encouraged and practically forced into buying 10% more than what I needed, to account for "defects." I asked what I would do if I ended up with extra material, and was assured I would be able to return the product. No one informed me of a 90 day return policy. Due to the birth of a newborn ** ********, holidays, new years, and family health issues, we did not complete the project until early this year, after which I had the opportunity to return the unused material. On 1/21/2023, I returned to the store with the material and original receipt. The cashier informed me he would not be able to initiate a return because I was outside of the 90 day return window. I asked for a manager, who told me basically the same thing but that he would submit the return request and a 3rd party would determine if I was eligible for store credit. I was told the system denied my request and I would need to contact *** ****** ********. I have since contacted *** ****** ******** and was provided a report that does not contain a reason the return request was denied. It does however, state that there was no receipt provided with the return request, which is not true. I provided the original receipt, on which, the return policy states returns over 90 days are eligible for merchandise credit. I then called the store back on 1/26/23 and asked to speak to a manager. The manager I spoke to claims that the receipt is not valid because it is over 90 days, and that they have to submit the request as if there is no receipt provided. This is false, and seems illegal to me. There is no mention anywhere on the receipt about it not being valid after 90 days. The receipt only details that returns after 90 days are eligible for merchandise credit.
