Company refuses to refund security deposit because they maliciously find things to suck the money in to. It was a brand new home and it was left in the same condition as we moved in. They made up lies and fake items to keep money. They keep over $700 just becuase the landlord tenant act said they could even though their wasn't any need to.

    Business Response

    Date: 01/14/2024

This previous tenant broke their lease agreement by vacating the property before their lease term was fulfilled. Their lease term was through April 30, 2024 and she emailed that she would be moving out. She vacated the property on August 7, 2023. As per section 3, 34 & 35 of the lease agreement they are obligated to pay rent through that lease date or as per the landlord tenant act, through the vacancy period. They were charged 8 days of rent since the property was re-rented on September 9, 2023. Also as per section 34 & 35 of the lease agreement they were charged the leasing fee since they did not fulfill the lease term. All charges were in writing to the complainant through a security deposit disposition and she received a check for the remaining refund. We rightfully withheld these funds from their deposit and acted within the laws of the landlord tenant act (the complainant says so herself in her claim). She is not due back any more money.
