I paid $9k upfront for a boat lift to be installed in my boat dock. ***** ******** promised me a refund after not delivering on my purchase after 8 months. He has now blocked my number and refuses to communicate. My attorney contacted ***** and he said he would be putting a check in the mail immediately, and that I was an amazing customer that deserves my money back after accepting all fault and responsibility. That was 3 months ago. I’ve tried everything to avoid legal action but it appears to be the only way I’m going to get my money back.

Provided Livin EZ Docks/***** ******** a deposit of $15,000 for dock construction. After months had passed, requested deposit back of 15k. ***** said this was not an issue and I provided an opportunity to pay back 15k over a 3 month window. After months of asking ***** for payment, he finally sent a $5,000.00 payment in February. ***** said he would sent 5k in March and 5k in April - but has failed to keep his work. Fast forward to May 2024, and now ***** refuses to answer any texts or calls. Livin EZ Docks/***** ******** owes me $10,000.00 of my original 15k deposit back.

Started dealing with ***** in spring of 2023. I paid him on 3/28/23 in the amount of $10,000 cashiers check. At that time we were waiting for completion of our permit to build from TVA. We decided to do the deposit because ***** said the price could go up 10-20% in the next two years, based on materials. We would then owe the balance upon completion of the dock. Last week of September 2023, I reached out to ***** to tell him we were not going to move forward with the dock at this time, and that we needed the money for other things. He said he understood, things happen. He asked for 2 weeks to be able to get me the money and I agreed. At the end of October I began reaching out and he said he would get the check mailed. On November 6 he confirmed to me via text that the check had been mailed out Nov 3 by his CPA. This is the last I’ve heard from him - I’ve reached out several times via text and call. I have got an attorney involved to write a letter to the business in attempt to request the money back - the attorney is in Marshall County and told me I was the third client of his that this had happened to with this business! Gregg will really schmooze you in the beginning and seems like a great and trustworthy guy. He seems like he knows how to build good socks, but he is not a reputable business owner. I just want my money back.

I contracted with ***** to build a dock in July of 2021. He gave me a 3-4 month timeline of completion, understanding that we had to wait on permit for dock to begin which took longer than expected. Received permit to build in November of 2022. It is June 1st of 2023, 7 months later... and dock is not complete... Im in the world of construction and get weather delays, manpower shortages, and material shortages and am sympathetic to it. THIS is not that. THIS is a mismanaged company and unethical businessman who will talk all day long to sell you something but when it comes to ACTUALLY getting the work done is deceitful at best. -His M.O. is he will not pick up the phone or answer texts until he decides to send one of his crews out for the day to do a little work. The crew will complete their small portion of work and then leave then the next crew wont show up for weeks. in the meantime he will give you a date but almost never actually his the date and if he doesnt have a date for you he will not respond... PERIOD. -Turned loose to start dock November of 2022. -Met onsite in December to discuss work. Estimated starting early January-Radio silence ensues -March 20th -Crew came out for half a day and poured a concrete stoop (3x5)-Radio silence ensues -Contacted the Kentucky AG since he would not respond I had assumed he abandoned the project -***** said he would immediately begin and work to finish the dock. -June 1st over a month later and only 6 working days that a crew has been out there to work on it and about 50% complete. In summary - ***** is a great salesman but thats where it stops. He does not know how to run a business, does not communicate with clients after theyre on the hook, and does not complete a project in anything close to a timely manner. There may be a day when he finishes it but thats yet to be seen and it takes an act of law to coerce him to do it.

The Company states the customer's dock is built and still needs sheet metal installed and to be hooked up to the shore.  The Company states the sheet metal installer will be at the dock shortly to finish the job and get it hooked up to the shore.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: unfortunately the state of the dock as described by the business is lacking. The dock is missing the installation of the roofing system and trim, completion of the dock framing, completion of the dock decking, finish out of dock edge bumpers, cleats, accessories, and misc., installation of steps, ramp, and stabilization arm, anchors and attachment to the landing, and boat lifts and control consoles. See attached for state of dock. Unfortunately the business and its owner has failed to deliver on schedule and promises repeatedly so any promises made are not acceptable. The only resolution will be the completion of the dock in a timely manner and resuming of communication.

    Sincerely,

    **** *********

Contracted last July 5th of 2022 to have Living easy docks completely remove the old dock and supports and install a new covered dock with all new supports and materials. We asked if there were any issues with materials or labor at that time due to Covid. We were advised by Gregg Williams that neither would be an issue as he double ordered materials that would last him two years or more and that his labor force were all with his company for several years and they have been busy the whole time. Gregg Williams wrote a hand written contract with dimensions and comments that included the work description for the new dock, and that it would be completed by October of 2022, because that was when the TVA lowers the water on Kentucky lake. I paid half down on the dock with the rest upon completion. Nothing has been removed or installed to date. I have contacted the main phone number and received a few return calls from workers stating the dock would be installed in two weeks. This has been their Comment every two months since the end of last October. My son has called as well as visiting the business where they weld some of the structures. I never get a return call from Gregg or real updates on the install date. The water level in Kentucky lake started rising last week and seems to be normal lake levels now. I’m concerned that I won’t get this work completed or my money back, which they have had for about 9 months now. .

***** ******** made an agreement to install a 15,000 pound boat lift and add dock filler as listed in agreement. This owner and company hasn’t returned my calls in over a month they have lied multiple times about when they were going to install the contracted items before disconnecting contact completely. This install per Greg was supposed to take place 2 weeks after payment was received. After looking at this company’s BBB complaints I am not sure how he is still in business but this is not the first time he has done this. I don’t want any work to take place from this company. I want a full refund of the money I paid as deposit for the work that has never taken place. For anyone reading this do not deal with this company. I guarantee you will end up in the same situation I am. I have now been in contact with my bank for the fraudulent charges and I am also working with an attorney. I will also be contacting the local district attorney’s office, department of consumer affairs and state attorney generals office consumer fraud division. I will also be contacting the state licensing board and hopefully getting this companies license revoked.

I contracted with ***** ******** on 04/28/2021 to install a dock on my property. Total cost of the dock was $40k and I gave him a $15k deposit. We went back and forth through the fall and winter and have been trying to move forward since March of this year. Was told May 17th that he has 2 docks at the ramp and when those are moved out my would be moved in. Asked about timeframe and got no response. Text on June 1 no response. Text on July 7 and got a call that must have gone straight to voicemail that stated he still had 1-2 docks in front of me and then he would get to mine, but that if that wasn't fast enough, he would be glad to send me my deposit back. I tried to call right back and no answer. Text on July 9th, no answer. Text July 11th, no answer. Text July 13th, no answer. All the texts were preceded by a phone call by the way. Later that day on July 13th, got another call that somehow went straight to voicemail asking me to send him my address so that he could send m my deposit back since seem antsy. I proceeded to text him my address. I requested to pick up in person though and if he wasn't willing to do that, to please send via fed ex or ups so we could track it. Followed up on July 25th with a phone call and text, no reply and no check. Followed up with a phone call and text on the 29th, no reply and no check. So I write this today in hopes of getting resolution. My next step will be to file theft charges in his county, the county where I gave him the deposit, the county where the dock was to be installed, and my county. I will file complaint with Federal Trade Commission, CCWSA and TWRA.

***** ******** called and left me a voicemail on June 7th and stated he had 1 or 2 docks in front of me and then he would try to get to me.  He said if that wasn't quick enough, then he said he would be glad to send me my deposit back and that he understood.  I still have the voicemail.  I was never able to get back in touch with him after that.  Then on July 13th he called and left me another voicemail asking me to text him my address, that he was just going to send me my deposit back since i seem so antsy.  i text my address but requested he send it fed ex or UPS so that i could track it since he was sending a cashiers check and the mail is not always dependable.  I even asked if i could meet him to pick it up.  I have called and text since then and have never been able to reach him.  None of the voicemails, and i have them all, state that he still needs to try to sell my dock.  I will not be satisfied until I have my check in my hand.

I signed an Agreement with Living 'EZ' Docks for construction of a 2-slip dock on March 16, 2021. The dock was to be completed in 4 months or by July 16, 2021. The dock's deck was constructed at our lake's public boat ramp in September 2021. The dock was moved to our frontage and tied to our anchorages in November 2021. The roof was constructed in April 2022. No work has been completed since April 2022. The dock does not have the following items as per the Agreement: bumpers around all edges of the dock, 14 cleats, a swim ladder, gutters/trim on two sides, two 5,500 lb. overhead boat lifts and a dozen or so columns are not pinned to the sleeves in the deck. I paid 1/3 down when we signed the Agreement and paid another 1/3 when the dock "hit the water" and was attached to our frontage, as per the Agreement. The balance is due upon completion and provision of a release of liens document. Our Agreement includes a delay clause that reduces the price $1,000 for every month the dock remains unfinished past the completion date. Soon the delay clause will consume any final payment. We have tried to be patient, but it has been over 12 months since the dock was to be completed as per the Agreement and we want our dock completed now. The owner of Living 'EZ' Docks only occasionally responds to our texts. We have driven to Livin 'EZ' Docks three times this spring to try to find out what is going on. On our last visit on June 17, 2022, the shop foreman texted the Owner, who responded that the bumpers and gutters would be installed the following week and the lifts in two weeks. Despite this communication, and subsequent communication, no work has been attempted since April 2022.

On face value, Livin EZ Dock’s proposed solution to complete our dock by the end of August sounds good; however, today is September 1st and no work has been initiated since April as outlined in our complaint. The proposed solution must be met with action, not just words; therefore, the proposed solution is unacceptable. We need the dock to be finished now. Another month has passed with no work completed and the completion of the dock is now over 12 months late as per the agreement.

We agreed for him to install a dock and two boat lifts in September 2021. He asked for half the cost of the boat dock down and for the total cost of the two boat lifts. It was right at $50,000. He agreed to have it done a few months later. Ever since he took our $50,000 all we have gotten is constant lies and empty promises. He hasn’t told the truth once that we are aware of at this point.
