November 2021, I first contacted **** ******** (owner). I contacted him about some landscaping, hardscaping, driveway extension, backporch concrete extension, and pool install. We agreed to the contract, I secured him with a down payment. Included in the contract and at his suggestion, I elected to purchase a 28' pool. The pool portion of the contract was to be completed including electric, landscape, drainage, and foundation reinforcement prior to Memorial Day 2022. After several months of excuses and sporadic work, the electric was installed, and the area appeared to be ready for the pool to be installed. He insisted that he could not get the help to get the pool put up. We agreed on contracting another pool installer. I informed **** that it would be installed on a particular day in July so I would prefer he meet up to work with them on it. He expressed needing more money, I was willing to pay him another portion toward the contract, but I needed to see some work being done on his end before I would. The new pool installer informed that the area was only 27' and obviously not going to fit a 28' pool. At that time **** unreachable. He insisted I another $2500 to him and leave him a good review on ****** even though he wasn't near done. A year later and I am still finding out things that he cut corners. In addition to the pool area being minimum 5' too short for the pool, the 3 retaining walls that he completed aren't properly reinforced according to structural rules that people in his line of work should know about, he punctured my septic output line, and he also never paid the money to the electrician that I gave to him for his work. The retaining wall for the pool area has to be removed for the minimum 5' to be dug and wall put back in place correctly, the three retaining walls properly reinforced, the septic outline to be repaired, and I still have the remaining of the work to be done. I estimate my losses to be $20K+ and what should be a criminal amount.
