  Took 3 months after signing contract to break ground. Then 15 months to complete construction. All communication via text message. I think we met onsite once during the whole process. The owner has a full time job that takes him out of town several days a week so the subs have no one to report to. And it shows in their work. We've had to have insulation, electrical, hvac, painters, carpenters all back to do work. Judging by the quality of their work I will not have them back to work on my house He begged the inspectors to give him a certificate of occupancy so 'the homeowners won't lose their rate" but never followed up on the things he promised to correct, and uses the signed C.O. to prove he built our house 'up to codes'. The lot was not graded properly. There's a hill behind, but had the lot actually been graded properly I wouldn't be mopping water out of the garage every time it rains. Every time we sent a punch list he'd promise to get someone there, but it usually meant after 2 weeks I'd call the subs directly to get them out here. He also built his own house during this time with no delays or contractor issues. Seems he diverted resources to make sure his own family was taken care of while his paying customers suffered. He only responded after we filed a complaint with the contractor licensing board and then tried to claim credit for issues we'd resolved out of our own pocket because we were not getting any response. I would not hire this company to build me a birdhouse.

  Too much negativity to leave here. Save yourself unnecessary stress, Communication is a major problem, and communication that does occur cannot be trusted! Find another contractor!

  Would NOT Recommend. I had called JDA to see if they were interested in building a 2800 sq. ft. house w/ a walkout basement to the drywall. Josh said yes, he would be willing to do that & he would have a estimate to us shortly. After 9 days, I checked to see if he had an estimate yet. He said he would have something by the end of the week. After 7 more days, I checked back again. A few days later I get a call from someone else - Hank. I thought it was someone who had worked for Josh - he had asked me to send him the floor plan of the house we wanted to build that I had sent to Josh. I though he was going to work on the quote for us. I waited another week & after not hearing from either Josh or Hank regarding the bid that I though they were getting us, I had contacted Josh for the third time - texted and left messages (Josh never answered his phone). As it turned out, Josh at JDA was no longer interested in building a home for us & was trying to pass us off to an agent friend of his for some reason so I don't know why Hank asked for the floor plan if he was an agent. Josh didn't even have the courtesy to let us know that he was not interested in building to the drywall only..... My husband was a contractor & we had renovated homes for 10 years so to help save money since we were building an house that was going to be 5600 sq. ft., we needed to try to save some money by doing the interior ourselves. Plus, we are very picky & are perfectionists & have found from past experience, that we will do a better job than the majority of sub-contractors. Anyway, we got the runaround for almost a month & in the meantime we were wasting our time driving around the area looking for land (we are from out of state staying in an RV park) because we though we had found a builder. It would have been nice if Josh had been honest upfront. We didn't have time to waste & Josh acted like it was no big deal. We never got an apology. This is not a builder I would trust.
