Service One Credit Union (SOCU) has failed now two years in a row to pay our property taxes on time from our escrow account. 2023 property taxes were coded incorrectly, and were actually paid to our neighbors property account with the sheriffs office. Our neighbor has the same first name and middle initial as I do, and their address is two numbers off, so I understand the confusion. However, we received a notice from the sheriffs office today stating our property taxes for 2024 are late, and we are now being charged a penalty of almost $500, like we were for the 2023 tax year. The sheriffs office believes the same thing has occurred. This causes a shortage in our escrow account, and SOCU then charges us more monthly on our mortgage to cover. Additionally, SOCU failed to pay our homeowners insurance for 2023, which lead to the company dropping our coverage. SOCU failed to notify us of the lapse in coverage, so we went the entire year of 2024 without homeowners insurance unknowingly. This is completely unacceptable, and would have left us with nothing in the event a fire or natural disaster claimed our home. SOCU again said this was our fault, and that we should have received the same notice they did stating we had been dropped. They admit to receiving the notice, but said nothing to us. We did not receive a notice, and had no idea this had occurred until we decided to bundle our home and auto together with a different company and they said we currently were not covered. When contacting our old insurance company, they explained SOCU never sent payment and they terminated our insurance. We are now having to pay $800 a more for homeowners insurance since we incurred a penalty for lapse of coverage. SOCU denies any wrongdoing, and has charged us more, yet again, to cover the difference in our escrow account.

So the account clearly says it’s closed and the agreement was we pay in full the guy ***** eye to eye hand shakes says u pay it off I’ll take everything off ur credit. My grandfather and I agree. Here it is 2023 and I’m still being told that it’s being reported on my credit as a very very delinquent payment. Somehow they keep reporting this and it’s hurting my credit. The car payment would have never been late but I had my son the day it was due a few weeks went by realizing we had not paid so I take two months in the past and the present Payment and then some how some where I got behind not understanding I call they inform me that the late payments go to the back end so every payment I was making was going to the rears of that payment so I was constantly behind and to be honest i know they didn’t list at least 2 payment so. I have spoke with ***** and his reply was o well I was late and yea we agreed but nothing I can do. All credit agencies that I have spoke with doesn’t fully understand y this hasn’t been resolved I litterly paid 14,000 for a car twice

We have updated the status of this loan as paid in full with the Credit Bureau. The member opened this loan with Service One in 2019. The loan was paid off in 2021. There were documented late payments over 30 days that will remain on her credit report for the standard amount of time by the credit reporting agencies.

This is a former member whose accounts have been closed since 2017. Service One Credit Union does not have any information regarding a debt for Charter Communications and does not have the ability to remove any information regarding a Charter Communications account from a credit report.

On August 1st 2022 I searched "pay loan with debit card". This payment was intended for ******** ****** Credit Union (****.org). I clicked a link for Service One Credit Union (****.com) and submitted a payment through repay.io for $335 + service fee. On August 2nd the payment went through, as shown on attached image. On August 3rd I realized my mistake and called Service One Credit Union. Customer Service informed me it would not go through as it is not a valid account. I was told it would be refunded by August 4th. I have not yet received this refund.

Our contact center associate is correct.  Typically, we send “repay” payments that are not from our members directly back to “repay”.  Investigating whether it was a “repay” issue or a **** issue, will prolong the refund, so, we have decided to overnight Mr. ******* a check for $340.95.  We are doing this because of the length of time Mr. ******* has been waiting for his return payment.

I have asked our system folks to “whitelist” your address, so emails from you will make it past our system security. We will usually respond to the BBB diligently, but if something should happen and our response is not timely, we would appreciate knowing sooner that we have not responded to a complaint.  Please know, we are concerned about customer issues even if they are not **** members.

    Have a good evening,

    ******* ** *****
