During my final month at this place, I was treated very poorly. The contract required me to provide a 60-day notice if I planned to move out; otherwise, I would be penalized with two months’ rent for failing to notify them on time. Unfortunately, I was late on my rent during my last month because I intended to pay the full amount, including any late fees, by the end of the month. Despite my plan to settle everything, they moved forward with filing an eviction against me in court and only informed me on the very day they were taking action. Their communication throughout the process was terrible. I experienced ongoing issues with my email and mailbox key, which wasn’t working, making it difficult to stay informed. I frequently visited their office to ask questions regarding my final month, yet they never clearly communicated my deadlines or potential penalties in person. Instead of providing advance notice, they would call me just minutes before deadlines were due, leaving me with little to no time to address any issues properly.

We have reviewed our records and would like to provide the following account of the situation from our perspective: At the time of this review, this customer had not paid his rent for January and was given a legal 7 day notice to pay by email and by USPS. His lease expires 1/31/25. He has not given us notice to vacate, nor has he renewed. He has been contacted numerous times. His first renewal letter was sent 11/7/2024. He was in the office last week asked about either renewing or moving, he was reminded again about the 60 day notice to vacate and was given a form. The customer stated that he was not aware that he was required to give a notice. However, he did give us a written notice to vacate in June of 2024 and canceled it just days later. The customer stated that his key to his mailbox didn’t work last week. We asked for his key, and it operated perfectly, and the box was stuffed full of mail. This customer also doesn’t pick up his packages from the lockers. We filed for Forcible Detainer at 10am Jan 21st. He was contacted by email on the 17th and was called on the phone at 9am on the 21st. While we always prefer to be able to resolve a complaint satisfactorily, in this situation it was not possible. Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the review.
