I purchased a 2006 Toyota Tundra from the lot. Before I made the 1.5 hour trip j specifically asked about the frame and was assured it was fine. I took my 79 year old mother and her 82 year old husband with me because I have no one else to help with the decision. We did inspect the truck to the vest of our abilities. We are not from Georgetown and couldn't find a garage to check it out for me. I knew when I purchased the truck that I would have to purchase rotors and brakes. I bought the truck 8/17/24. I ordered the parts and took to a garage to have the parts installed. Once the mechanic removed the front wheels and tires it made it possible to see the rust on the frame. It was so bad that the mechanic refused to install the new parts because the frame was rusted and had to be fixed to be driven safely. I drove it home and it has been parked ever since. I'm back to borrowing my mom's car because I drive for a living! I have had 3 other mechanics to come and look at it to give quotes to fix it. None of the quotes were under $2000. I spent every dime I had to buy the truck and was assured it was a good truck by the car lot. The car lot was contacted before the 2nd week ended after the purchase. The GM was supposed to inform the salesman which never took place. They also owed me a part that was supposedly ordered before I ever made the purchase! I still haven't received the part. The car lot just said that they are a family run business of 30 years and the GM inspected the truck himself and said it was good! The car lot stated that the frame was not rusted while they had it! It's impossible to create that amount of rust in 2 weeks! That is what they are trying to say is I created the rust. I have no vehicle to drive just a truck I paid $8000 for thar isn't safe ti be driven. They stated they wouldn't sell something not safe and refused to assist me in any way! So I am out $8000 and sure don't have the $2000 to repair to make it safe for the road! Please helpBusiness Response

Vehicle was sold as is. It had high miles on it, was stated it was sold as is, we have paperwork showing they agreed to take it as is, the complaint came 3 weeks after purchase. When we sell vehicles that are sold as is and vehicle did not qualify for a service contract, there is nothing more we can do. Sold as is by company policy.Initial Complaint

March 20th I bought a 2016 f150 sport, upon driving it home from the car lot the truck broke down and died on me. I contacted the car lot and they promised me they would fix the issues. It is now January 2024 and it is still doing the same thing it was doing on the day I bought the truck.Business Response

Vehicles was purchased as is, but a vehicle service contract was sold. After the sale and both parties agree to our as is policy, we have coordinated the customer with ******** (vehicle service contract company) to make sure all claims were covered. ******** has covered multiple claims over the last year and even approved an entire engine replacement, which was somehow not completed. Legally, we sold the vehicle as is and any help or assistance afterwards was something we were legally not obligated to do but we still attempted to coordinate coverage through ******** up until we were met with threats of litigation. Upon threats of litigation, we turned everything over to our attorneys and await to hear from the customer. Legally, vehicle was sold as is, was agreed and signed by both parties and there’s nothing else to discuss.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:The car may have been sold as is, but within the first hour of taking the car from the lot it broke. Then I was assured they would take care of the issue with the truck but have still not held up their word. There may be an as is sale but there are laws in place that protect consumers when the vehicle breaks before the ink is dry on the paperwork.
Sincerely,

The vehicle service contract company approved an engine and it didn’t get put in. After the sale from the moment, the customer takes delivery off the lot the sale is final, and any help from the dealership is out good will. Like Stated before, We have made every effort to make this customer happy by numerous phone calls text messages to everybody that could’ve helped and got everything approved and the service facility that the customer took it to replaced several thousand dollars worth of parts covered under the service contract (********) Because of the effort made by Georgetown Auto Sales. We are legally not obligated to do anything at this point for the customer, and since the customer has threatened litigation, this matter is closed on our part. We wish the customer best of luck with this vehicle and your next one, even if that isn’t going to be from us. Has been a nine month process of dealing with something that we didn’t have obligation to deal with after Customer took delivery only because we knew this customer on a personal level. After threats name-calling, we decided we are done going above and beyond and it is now just between the customer in the service contract and whatever service facility the customer slides to take it to, Which is what it technically has been the entire time Because every effort we made was above, and beyond what we legally had to do because we wanted to take care of the customer. We determined that there is nothing else we can do as a company to help this customer, He needs to take it up with the service company and the service facility he took it to. Since we don’t have a service facility, we can’t fix it, and never promised to fix it ourselves, We have promised to help coordinate claims through *** ***** to be completed which we have done and we have proof that we’re approved and completed.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
It appears the owner of said establishment said just that. The attached picture is proof that he himself agreed to the repair of the vehicle he sold me that was not safe and dies at random. This is an admittance that the vehicle was not right upon purchase and therefore is an agreement by the owner to make it right even at the cost of $10,000.00. If they feel the need to not uphold their agreement upon the findings that they sold an unsafe vehicle then I’d assume they have no issue with the repercussions of not being an upstanding company and standing by the promises they made to a customer.

The screenshot that the customers referring to is me saying that I will get the issue handled and I did get the issue handled, Georgetown Auto Sales got every claim the customer filed through the service contract approved. Since we don’t physically do the work since we don’t have a service department, we can’t help if the service department the customer took it did not fix the issue that was recommended from us and also the service contract company. A new engine would’ve fixed all the issues this customer has And was approved by *** ****** I’m not sure what else the customer wants us to do other Then, ensure any claim filed from the service contract that he purchased is approved. We got the claim approved, But yet they still hasn’t made the customer happy. The customer has threatened us and accused us of trying to kill his family, despite spending the better half of nine months on this customer side, trying to get any claims covered. According to *** ***** and the Ford dealership that we sent the customer to to do the claims, The truck is fixed. So I’m going to trust the people that are in this business and people that I deal with, Who told me the truck is fixed. If the truck indeed is not fixed, That would be on the company that did the service work, Not us. The customer is holding Georgetown Auto Sales responsible for not servicing a vehicle correctly at a Ford dealership which we do not own or can control. We wish the customer best of luck with his vehicleCustomer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:The truck has been in and out of shops since day one of purchasing. The company sold a truck with issues cleared the codes off of the truck, and knew it wasn’t a properly functioning vehicle. They should and will be held accountable for their wto by doings. They need to either repair the vehicle or pay me back for the lost wages, money spent outside of the warranty coverage, and the hassle that I’ve gone through because they sold a faulty vehicle. The vehicle has left me and my two children stranded multiple times now and cost me well over 1500$ in other costs because they never did what they said they would!
