On June 26, we reached out to Mr. Chimney Patio & Pools to reinstall our chimney cap. While they were installing this, they claimed that there was an issue with the brick chimney and that it needed filler, etc, to prevent it from further decay. We opted to have them fix this and they came back the very next day to do such. While they did perform the job, they left the forms on the chimney which they stated they were going to come back in a few days to remove, as well as power wash the chimney, and make sure everything was taken care of. A week had passed so I attempted to call them, and they answered and said they would send someone out the next day to complete the job. This never happened. So I called again, and again, and again, and again, as well as text. It is now September 13, 2024, and we have received no correspondence back from anyone, the forms are still on the chimney, and the job is not complete. I now don't know what to do as the bill has been paid in completion, yet the job is not done. I fear I'm going to have to hire someone else to complete the job and be out even more money.Business Response

I attempted to respond but could not locate a "Respond to Complaint" option as stated in yoyr letter.After receiving the first letter I immediately sent my crew over to remove forms. Power washing the chimney was not in our contract. This was an over-sight. I just got busy. I apologize for the inconvienenceSecond letter, dated 10-7 was received on 10-12 requiring a response within 3 days of the letter. BBB didn't even mail letter until 10-10 ON the day you expected a response from me. I am rejecting this response because:The business owner stated above that he took down the forms, which is a lie, because the forms are still there! See attachment. This picture was taken on 10/15/2024@ 6:30p CST. I’m incredibly displeased with the dishonesty and the way this person does business. Unbelievable, especially since I’m handicapped, in a wheelchair, and unable to do anything to fix the issue myself.

The receipt he is showing is the original contract (that I also provided the BBB) that was initially given at the time of the first contact and day of service. Again, the forms were not removed after the concrete had a chance to set up and are still sitting there. He is having a hard time fessing up to his dishonest business practice.

Your bbb response portal has glitches I it does not recognize my file number. this is the only way I am able to communicate with you.Just recieved letter that you closed account because I did not communicate. First of all I did respond by going to ** ***** house and removing the forms. Second by a email respond informing you that the complaint was resolved.Furthermore. I recieve you letters TEN DAYS after yoy write them. You mail them 3-4 days after you write them. There is no way I can respond in your alotted time frame since it expires before yoy get the letter in the mail.Customer provided you with an old picture of forms still on. We removed forms the same week we received the first lette and respondwd to your unreasonable deadline, for it had expired by the time we received the complaint. I will provide you with a picture next time I am in that area. We are working an hour away from ** *****'s house.I can be reached at ************. I am rejecting this response because:
The forms HAVE NOT been removed. I sent an updated picture the day he said they were removed through BBB. It is NOT an old picture and I can go outside and take 100 pictures of the forms still on there if needed. I live in the house and see them on the roof every day, just waiting for them to come and remove them. I don’t know why there is the need to lie. He needs to just fess up he didn’t complete the job, come remove the forms, then we can stop with all the letters he’s getting so angry about.

We hired Mr. Chimney Patio and Pools, at **** ***** ***** **** *********** *** ****** to fix our leaking fire place. They arrived on February 6, 2023. The agreement was to 1. Propose to install membrane. 2. Form and pour 5 1/2 capto help prevent future water penetration. 3. Grind and tuck as needed. 4. All excess debris to be desposed of for 3,600.00. 74 yrs. We were told by the owner that he did this all the time and that he could do it in a day. At the end of the day, they packed up their stuff, (with the exception of the scaffolding). We were told that they would return in a few days to remove the framing. 3 weeks passed and they never showed up. I called, left a message, and he never returned my call or texted me back. After a few more days I texted him again because he wouldn't answer. A few days later I texted him again and but wasn't very nice. He then texted me and said they would come the following weekend and fix it. It was a no show. I called several moe times and had to leave a text because he would not answer himself. We had a big rain and the fireplace was still leaking pretty bad from the inside as before. Long story short, he finally sent 2 guys (very nice) and they worked all day packed up everything, said to call if it still leaked. It still leaks, he won't return my calls or text. We are both 74 yrs. Old. We trusted this man and he lied and cheated us out of our money. So sad. Stay away from this man, he's a scamming thief.Initial Complaint

On January 12, 2023 I accepted a proposal from **** ****** owner of Mr. Chimney Patio and Pools for the following: To install membrane then form and pour 5 1/2 inches of concrete cap to help prevent future water penetration to the chimney and to dispose all excess debris at **** ***** *** *********** ******* ****** *** ****** also cleaned the chimney, checked the gas line and started a fire in fire place to be sure everything was working properly. He stated he would return in 3-4 days to finish the job. The charge was $2285.00. Unfortunately, I paid *** ****** before he completed the project. I have called him several times to complete his obligation. He promised 2 times he would be here but didn't show. Now, he does not answer the phone and I have left reminders along with our address.
