I want to start off first to think all the workers at Sterling. I called them to do a 2nd opinion on my my furnace. The first company told me I had a bad blower motor, a bad draft inducer motor and a cracked heat exchanger. They gave me a repair cost of $6k or a replacement cost of $15k. I did not feel comfortable with the tech, he seemed kind of pushy so I called another company. That second company almost followed the same as the previous company except they just told me the draft inducer motor was bad, but because of the age and a repair cost of $1800 i would be better off to replace the furnace. My neighbor came over and recommended Sterling, so I called them for a free second opinion. The technician was here for 2 hours going over my system. They also gave me a free indoor air quality inspection as well. They explained to me the only thing wrong with the system is that the vent pipe outside was clogged up with a bees nest. It was not allowing for the exhaust to release which in return was causing the pressure switch not to open. They also inspected my heat exchanger with a camera plus thermal imaging. The heat exchanger was in perfect condition and i was advised to have it serviced every year because the internal drain lines had some gunk in it. They also advised me that if there was a crack in the heat exchanger, the part is covered with a lifetime warranty. I would just have to pay for labor to install it. The technician at sterling was very knowledgeable and did not try to up sale me. He also gave me a full report of all the components and the test result of the air quality in my home. I will recommend them to everyone I know.

Disgusting business that exploits the elderly by up-selling them on products they do not need. Sterling Heating & Air Conditioning tried to sell my grandmother a window air/heat unit + install for $2,500. This unit was for a sub 250 square foot room (Units for these kinds of rooms can be found for $500 at Home Depot). When she wasn't able to outright pay for the unit they referred her to a loan company so she could finance an air unit that's more than 4 times the prices of what she needs. When calling back to cancel the order (which had not shipped yet and was ordered less than 24 hours prior) they told her they weren't sure that they could cancel the order and would call back. When I called and told them I was disgusted and that they should find a way to cancel the order because we won't be paying I was rudely told off and then hung up on. Avoid this business at all cost.

Let us start this response off with we do not take advantage of anyone much less than the elderly as the grandson has mentioned. This is not a standard unit that you can just buy at a box store for $500. This is a PTAC unit and not a window unit. You can order an off brand PTAC unit starting at $1,299 up to $2,000. This customer has been a good customer for years. We installed her current unit back in 2014 for $1,584.00. We had trouble finding the exact unit because that unit has been upgraded to a different model. The price of the newer unit was over $1400.00 plus the cost to install it, which is not free. The current PTAC unit was never cleaned nor serviced since it was installed. The heating elements need to be replaced and the unit needs to be pulled and cleaned. The customer did not want a repair cost and wanted it replaced. We explained to the customer numerous times to make sure a replacement is what she wanted, because if we make and confirm the order it would be hard for us to cancel. We did not force the customer to buy this unit, and we told her it was more expensive than the one we replaced in 2014. The grandson called and was disrespectful to our dispatcher and was not happy with the answers he was getting so he hung up and started to make his reviews everywhere. At Sterling, we give it 100% in providing the best service to our customers and try to give the best pricing available.
