Nature of Complaint: I am filing this formal complaint against Donan Engineering regarding their failure to conduct an adequate assessment of storm-related damage to my home. Key Issues: 1. Incomplete and Unreliable Inspection * Donan failed to inspect key areas of storm damage (roof, interior, detached garage). * Their conclusions were based on incomplete evidence, as Homesite Insurance withheld key documentation. 2. Misleading Report Findings * Donan’s report claimed there was no wind damage evidence, despite documented storm debris that was removed before their inspection. * They falsely attributed water damage to a lack of gutters, when in reality, gutters were present but torn off during the storm. Financial Impact: Due to Donan’s erroneous engineering report, I have suffered: * $610,000 in unresolved damages * Over $150,000 in interest payments on repair debt * Up to $720,000 in lost rental income due to uninhabitable conditions Requested Resolution: I request that the BBB investigate Donan Engineering’s practices and require them to: 1. Acknowledge or retract their misleading report. 2. Ensure that future reports are based on complete and verified evidence. This complaint will also be submitted to state licensing authorities and ethics boards. Thank you for your time, ****** **** ****** ************Initial Complaint

***** ******* ******** came to my home to inspect my roof that incurred wind/hail damage from a storm that came through our area. The engineer along with my roofer inspected the roof. After they were done inspecting my roof, I asked ****** ******* what he found. He stated that I did have damage on my roof, mostly wind damage. He told my roofer the same. But on his report to my insurance company ********** he stated that my roof damage was man made. That is totally ridiculous. That man should be fired for filing a false report. I am the original owner of my home and I have NEVER been up on my roof. The only people who have been up on my roof are the ******** inspectors and my roofer and my roofer was up on the roof WITH the Donan engineer hired by ********* This is totally ridiculous and people should be aware of the shenanigans that Donan and ******** are perpetuating. It’s criminal in my opinion.Initial Complaint

Donan Engineering was called out by my insurance company to inspect my roof after a claim was filed. When the engineer came out on October 22nd, 2022 he was with my contractor. He admitted to the contractor that there is evidence of wind damage, but then left it out of his report. My contractor even had a recorded conversation with him after the inspection where he admitted to leaving things out of the report and when I called him he refused to call the insurance company ********* back and amend his report. * ******* **** *** **** ** ******** *** **** *** ******* **** *** ********* ******* **** **** **** ** **** **** ** ************ **** ****** ********* ********* *******Initial Complaint

On August 30, 2022 an employee of Donan Engineering come to my home to perform an inspection at the request of my home insurance company. Since the inspection a tarp that was covering missing shingles has been flapping on and off my roof. I have contacted the individual that performed the inspection and received no response. Today I contacted the company and was advised that they are not responsible for the tarp on my roof. The tarp was protecting the roof from additional damage.Initial Complaint

Donan was hired by my insurance company to assess the cause of a mold outbreak in the home I was renting. The engineer stated in the report that the mold remediation had been completed when in fact it was underway. He had no basis for making that statement because as far as I know he did not do a thorough mold clearance test. In addition, I had a mold clearance test after the fact and it still showed high mold scores in the home. I made an attempt it to have then correct the report and it was this huge endeavor and the engineer amended the wrong paragraph . I went back again and they then said that he could not amend it because it was not relevant to the reason why they were there. EXACTLY MY POINT He was there to give a report about whether or not the mold was caused by a sudden incident or not. That's it. Not to comment on the current remediation status of the home. To this day, they just ignore my requests for them to make the correction. This is important because I am now in legal proceedings with a property manager that has not reimbursed me one penny, and because of their report, the insurance company denied my claim.
