I had a ***** ***** exam ordered and gave someone my insurance information. Was going thru a divorce and My primary insurance was ****** **** ***** and but ****** fep up until Feb 13. Was told what my copayments would be $30 which I paid at every visit without problem. Medicare was to become my primary after my fep stopped. So we discussed all of that and was to be filed with my primary. So my first bill was for full amount over 3000. I called the billing and they hadnt even filed with my primary insurance of bcbsfep. So I called after ridiculously long hold time spoke with person and they said they would file it. So I waited and then got bill saying my clay for second visit not paid. It was paid at visit and cleared my account so sent the proof. Then I get bill over 3000 again and called bcbs and they said it was denied because the claim had ready been submitted incorrectly and paid out. The insurance called and spoke with **** * who was supposed to reach out to their denials department and call Ivan at insurance back this was Aug 2. He tried 3 times to call but was on hold for unreasonable amounts of time. This needs to be fixed

    Hello,

I have reviewed the complaint and researched the account. There was a posting error that resulted in a larger amount due from the patient. This has been corrected and a smaller amount due was billed to the patient. I called ***** and explained the error identified on her account. She agreed with the new balance due and made a payment to pay off the balance.

This account issue has been resolved.

    Thank you

Hi, I took a neuroscientist test at a clinic for recognizing the extent of my ADHD and curing it. When I got the appointment, they said they would check my insurance at the appointment and say how much I should pay. When I went to the appointment, they checked my insurance and told me that I should pay $400. They divided this amount into 7 installments, and I paid it. In January 2023, I received a new bill from the clinic stating I should pay $700 more. I called their billing section. A woman answered me and said she know that they told me at the appointment that I should pay $400. She said do not worry about the new bill, it is a problem with the insurance company and would be resolved. Then, in March 2023, another woman from the clinic called me and said the clinic is not responsible for it, and I should pay the new bill. There is so much contradiction in what they told me. The renewal date of my insurance is August 1st. The neuroscientist test included three sessions (July 19, July 26, and August 16, 2022). The clinic just took one estimate from the insurance company at the first session in July 2022. But since the third session was after August 1st, the insurance estimate became different in August. Since the renewal date of insurance could influence the estimate, the insurance company should have provided the renewal date to the clinic, or the clinic should have taken an estimate before every session. A systematic mistake has happened here. If they have told me I should pay $1100 at the appointment, I had the choice to not take the test since I could not afford it. I filed a complaint at the Attorney General office, but the attorney answered he cannot help me since it is a factual dispute. I uploaded the answer of the clinic to the attorney. I appreciate if, before contacting the clinic, you can investigate my documents and tell me if I can file a complaint against the clinic or the insurance company. Thanks, *********** *******.

I am rejecting this response because if the renewal date of insurance could change the estimate, the insurance company should have provided the renewal date to the clinic, or the clinic should have taken an estimate before every session. A systematic mistake has happened here and I should not pay all of the added amount. I can pay some part of it, but the clinic or the insurance company should also pay the rest since I did not made this mistake.
