On August 20, 2024, I paid a technician with Humane Wildlife Control Solutions for an estimate of what it would cost to install an in-ground fence around my deck. He took measurements of the perimeter and said he would "work up the figures" and email me the estimate. I still haven't received an estimate. I called the office several times asking them to send it to me. Every time the person I spoke with said they would reach out to their technicians and ask the person responsible to send it to me. That produced nothing. Finally I asked for a refund and was told that I paid for an inspection, not an estimate, and therefore would not receive a refund.

Date: 4/11/24 - Mandeville, LA I paid Humane Wildlife Control Solutions to capture wildlife in my attic. The company never answers the phone and never returns calls after messages are left. We had a hole made in the soffit in the front of the house. The technician put a cage out and caught a few squirrels and raccoon. I noticed more damage in the back of the house, so the technician moved the cage. He put it too close to my water fountain and the raccoon pulled all of the electrical wires out and broke the fountain. Another hole was noticed on the other side of the house and the cage was moved to the front left side of the house. The technician would never come out and I was baiting the cage myself. The raccoon was caught on their camera so they knew what animal they were dealing with. Weeks went by before he finally came out again and said he would bait the cage with chicken that he would tie to the cage to try to capture the raccoon. He never came back out to bait the cage. Then today, 9/23/24, the cage was gone and they did not finish the job. It seems this company has a lot of complaints filed against them and I wish I would have checked the BBB before I paid them. I am very dissatisfied with this company and would not recommend them to anyone else. If they are concerned about their reputation, they would come back out to my house to finish the job they promised to do for $597.00

Date of Transaction: 5-17-24 Complaint filed against: Humane Wildlife Solutions Upfront Payment: $597 Humane Wildlife Solution was contracted to capture a squirrel living in our attic. The representative said they will put a cage and camera next to the house where he thought would the squireel entered. Since the initial setup they never checked or followed up. When I called the number listed on their website it consistently went to a recording not even associated with the company. After multiple call they answered , I was told the manager was out of town and no one else could possibly help. The message left to the manager was not returned. The same day after talking to the person who took the message, they came and took back the cage and camera. We still have the same squireel issue. Please read all reviews before giving them any payment.

On March 28,2023 at around 9 pm, I met with a wildlife technician in order to discuss getting rid of a possum in my attic. The wildlife technician explained the process of removing the possum and had me pay $599 up front, he said that in 24 hours the possum should be caught by the cage. We spent almost a week and nothing happened, we couldn't sleep due to the noises and the fear that it would damage our attic. In the end the possum has damaged our ceiling and nothing has been done about it. I started calling them multiple times after a week had passed and explained that I needed the possum gone and that if they could not get the job done then I needed my money back. They came the next day and removed the cage and didn't say anything or give me a refund back. After they removed the cage I've called them over ten times, with today (May 2, 2023) being the last time. Every time I call they tell me that they only thing they can do is put in a request with the owner to look at my case. I asked them if I could take to a supervisor or go to their office and they said no because it is not a public office. I feel that I've been scammed and misled by this company. None of the services I requested were completed and I can't get ahold of anyone to solve this issue. They have also been very disrespectful because during one of the calls I asked them how long it would take to get the possum out and they told me, very sarcastically, to ask the possum. This made me feel belittled. I hope to at least receive a part of the money because in the end the possum was not caught and the service was left half way done, $599 is a lot of money for me.

    Business Response

    Date: 05/19/2023

On March 28th an HWCS Technician certified as an Advanced Wildlife Control Operator responded to this complaint about noise in the attic. The homeowner had already sealed up the animals in the structure prior to our arrival by blocking the entry points. Our technician advised the homeowner to immediately re-open the entry points so the animals could leave the structure to get food and water, and placed a humane trap on site to remove the animals targeting the residence.

Our team located a suitable place based on extensive training and experience, and placed a trap. We also placed a camera to monitor the activity in and around the trap. Our team then started removing animals from the structure through our trapping process.

The contract signed for by the homeowner specifically states in our Safety Policy section that "In the event a technician or HWCS determines that is unsafe on Customers property the technician and/or HWCS may choose to discontinue services to that location. Customer agrees that HWCS may terminate service without refund for any violation of this agreement at any time." Our safety policy also states that we may terminate service for "harassing or otherwise inflammatory or defamatory statements when speaking with any representative of HWCS". While in the trapping process the homeowner called our staff and threatened on a recorded line to "shoot all the raccoons" and became verbally combative with the staff. Due to the threat of violence on site toward the animals and potentially our technicians we removed the trap and camera, and service has been terminated without a refund.

Engaged Humane Wildlife Control Solutions (aka ******* ******** to remove squirrels that were nesting in chimney. They required $624 upfront with the promise to trap all squirrels from yard and around chimney. Owner **** **** drop a trap and camera that day promising to return daily to remove trapped squirrels until chimney was free of squirrels. Weeks went by with no squirrels trapped and with many calls made to office with no response or actions taken. If phone was answered, excuses made and more promises made to come out but no one ever did. After discussion with BBB , made contact with ***** **** **** * ******** who had an open investigation of business for not following state wildlife rules. Finally after receiving call back from business and requesting my money back, business persons became threatening and combative. Based upon research findings of many prior complaints, past news stories of improper business practices, and legal actions being taken against this business, it's clear that business is not reputable. **** was apparently fired a few years ago from ********* ****** ****** ******* as well. Would avoid any business associated with **** ****.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********* and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ******** against Humane Wildlife Control Solutions ***** ***** and have determined that the proposed action would not resolved my complaint. My response to *** ****** statements appears below:

*** ****** account of what happened is false. I did engage him and his business to remove squirrels from my chimney and property. He placed a trap and camera well away from the chimney and said he would return daily to empty the trap until all squirrels were gone. After several days of no squirrels being caught I made numerous attempts to call and get in touch with *** **** but no messages or calls were returned. After a week of no activity I became suspicious and checked with the BBB about this business. In conversation with the BBB I found there were numerous complaints and was informed the BBB itself had been involved or was aware of an investigation of this business for scamming customers. It was recommended that I contact the ***** ***** **** * ******** ****** as well as the ***** ******** ********

I subsequently contacted the **** and learned they had been investigating this business and had taken them (Mr. ****) to court several times for not following state wildlife rules. The **** came out to my house to assess my situation and asked to watch my property to ensure the business was checking the traps every 24 hours as required by law. I agreed and they did and found the traps were if fact not being checked during the required timeframe. The **** took possession of the trap and camera at the end of their time watching my property. Finally, several days after the **** finished the watch of my property I received a call from the business who said they had come out to my property and could not find their equipment. I told them I was very frustrated at not receiving any returned calls for several weeks as well as no squirrels had been caught over this entire time. I told them I wanted a credit for the $624 I had paid them initially as they were not delivering the service they promised, and would not return their equipment until I received my credit. (even though I did not have their equipment). The caller became very threatening and said they were going to call the police and charge me with theft. I told them I was in agreement with them calling the police. Finally they said they would send someone out to get the equipment. I said yes please send someone out but they would not get their equipment until I had received my credit.

**** **** arrived just a few minutes after the above phone call ended and was very threatening, accusing me of theft and wanted his equipment immediately. Two police officers arrived a few minutes later. As they arrived *** **** proceeded to the street to tell one of the officers his side of the story while I waited in my driveway with the other officer. After the police listened to *** **** side of the story they then listened to my side which I said could be verified by talking to ******* ****** of the ****. The police did in fact call ******* ****** of the **** who verified my side of the story. They then informed *** **** that the **** was investigating his business and was in possession of his equipment. *** **** then became very agitated and argumentative with the police officer. After several minutes of arguing with the police, they finally told him he had to leave my property and not return. They also reiterated that he no longer had any issue to resolve with me but rather his issue was now with the **** who had his equipment and who had an ongoing investigation with him and his business.

I originally paid *** **** $624 via credit card which he scanned using a mobile handheld device. I asked for a receipt and was told that "they don't let us do any paperwork" which I thought was odd at the time. The only terms I agreed to were provided verbally by *** **** who said the $624 would cover them coming back to my property as many times as necessary to remove all the squirrels from my property. I was told they use the cameras to check the traps and they come out to empty the traps as needed. During this timeframe of over several weeks no squirrels were ever caught by *** **** or his business, nor did they regularly check the traps or respond to my many calls and messages.

During this time I also became aware that ***** **** * ************** had done several stories (May, Jun, Jul of 2021) on Mr. ****, his businesses, and business practices, and it was through reviewing those news stories that I became aware of *** **** being fired from ********* ****** ****** ******** having being involved in the controversial picking up of stray dogs, and faced charges for operating without the proper permits, all reported within the ***** news stories.

My experience with *** **** and his business as well as all the other evidence discussed above of BBB complaints, investigations by the ****, and ***** news stories, lead one to clearly conclude that *** **** and his business(es) are disreputable. The only resolution of my complaint that I would consider satisfactory would be for *** **** to provide me a credit of the $624 that I paid, due to services not performed or delivered.

I hired ********** ******* ******* which falls under the company name also of Humane Wildlife Controls Solutions, on 3/24,22. I paid $499.00 to have the rodents in my attic dormers removed. The invoice number is #INV****** From March until the end of June *** the wildlife technician helped remove 3 possums and 4 racoons from my property. In late June the activity ceased, and ** again came to my home and removed the camera and the cage. This was on July 1, 2022. When I asked him about closing off the entry points as guaranteed on their ad, I was told that another technician would call me to set up a time to close off the entry points. I was told that the racoons would return in 3 weeks or so if not sealed off. No one ever called me back and as sure as ** said, the racoons came back! I immediately called the dispatch number at 502-791-9205 and left a message. This was in July. I again called back on 8/22/22 and left a message. No one ever called back. I called again on 9/4/22 and talked to a tech who informed me someone would call me back. No one did. The company has two contact numbers: 888-712-2542 and 502-791-9205. They go under two different names: ********** ******* ****** and Humane Wildlife Control Solutions. I also paid an outsside source $100.00 to remove 3 dead racoon infant carcasses that died in my attic after notifying ********** ******* ****** of this problem when they were alive. To date, I am out $599.00 and still have racoons in my attic dormers.

    *** ***** contracted with HWCS in March of 2022 to remove raccoons in her attic. *** *** **** **** ** *** ********** ***** **************************************************************************

In August of 2022 *** ***** contacted HWCS again and requested that we return and start trapping raccoons at the property again for free. Our team indicated that she would need to pay for the service again as more than two months had elapsed from the time we last stopped work. *** ***** also inquired about exclusion work at this time and was told that the new raccoons would need to be removed.

All calls to HWCS are recorded and tracked. Our team has no record of *** ***** ever calling our office and reporting any live or dead juvenile raccoons in the home, and we never removed a lactating female from the property that would indicate we needed to remove juveniles. Our team thoroughly checked *** *****'s attic for juveniles prior to starting the work. We would request that *** ***** provide a written receipt for the payment of the removal of these raccoons and a copy of the license for the person who removed them for review by our management staff.

Our contract with *** ***** states "trapping duration is at the technician's discretion" and "customer agrees that all payments made are final and not refundable". No refund will be issued to *** *****.

[I would like to issue a C******* ****** ** ********** ******* ******* Not only did they take my money up front, they never came back and finished the job. They never had any intention of coming back. This was a scam from day one. On July 1st, 2022, when their tech, *** came and picked up the cage and the camera, he informed me that someone would call me within the next two weeks. I called *** in July, August, September and October to close off the entry points. No one ever called me back. No one except ** ever called me back. *** is being dishonest in their representation of this matter. Their excuses are neither factual or rational or logical. Their excuses sound made up. *** is saying the warranty has expired. They never came back and finished the job. This is a convenient excuse on their part. But, *** ran the time out, not me. I called every month for them to come back and finish the job. Why would they want to charge me another $499.00 to come back and finish the job they never completed. Closing off the entry points was part of the initial charge. It is stated on their websie that way. Certainly, if I had waived the entry points to be closed, *** would have a signed contract by me waiving this service. I had to sign a contract for them to start this critter removal, after all. I guarantee you *** does not have a document that I ever signed that waived this service.

On July 1, when ** came to my home to pick up the equipment, I thanked him for his hard work. I want to make the record clear, ** did a great job. He asked me if I would write a positive review on Facebook because *** had been receiving a lot of negative reviews. His words, not mine. I do not do ******** ** ******* *yet, because of this incident) so I went online to look for an address to send a thank you note. I could not find a mailing address on their site (hmmmmm) so I just decided to wait for the entry points to be closed. ********** ******* ****** *ever came back. We have raccoons in our attic, found this company on google. Called said they would take care of it for a flat rate of $500. We paid $500 cash on July 16, 2022. They sat a trap outside with a camera. Fast forward to 3 weeks ago they came when we were not home took cage and camera no call or explanation. We now we still have raccoons and I have been calling almost daily being very nice and every time they assure me they will come out the next day. We can’t get our soffit fixed until the raccoons are gone. We paid for a service and it has not been done.

On 5/10/22, a tech from Humane Wildlife Control Solutions arrived at the property. We told them we felt there were both birds and raccoons in the attic and the tech agreed. He said he would place a trap with a camera on it and that it would be monitored 24 hrs a day and he left. The next day, 5/11, I realized they had charged my credit card twice for the $514.00 charge, for a total of $1,028.00. Immediately called the office and they were very apologetic and assured me the extra charge would be removed. Since that time I have spoken with the supervisor "*****" and the front desk lady several times and each time they tell me it will be taken care of. Now we are only 4 days shy of one month and the extra charge is still on my card. In addition, there has been zero communication about the actual animal removal service that i requested. The trap has not been touched since the 10th and no one at the company can tell me when they plan on actually removing the animals. And after reading other reviews, would seem that this company is scamming folks, including myself and they should not be able to continue with these practices.

On April 11 we paid $514 for a service using our credit card charged to Humane Wildlife Control. The name of the business we were told is "Louisville Critter Ridder", but this appears to be the same business or subsidiary of that business. We paid for the service of removing raccoons from our chimney and a guarantee that entry-points would be fixed and no critters could return. We were told that they had 24/7 motion detection cameras on the trap and would monitor and respond timely in the trapping process. Trap caught raccoon twice and it escaped twice. There have been three times since that that the bait was completely cleaned out and nothing was trapped. We waited numerous days, over a week the second time for them to re-bait the traps. The latest time the trap was cleaned of bait was 2 weeks ago. Yesterday they came and just removed the trap and camera when we weren't home without any communication from them. We have called and/or texted almost daily for the past 3 weeks leaving messages asking for someone to contact us and talk about the status of our service and situation. We have received NO contact or response from them. Only the receptionist who answers the phone and says "I'll make a note of it in your record" but has no real answers or help for us. At this point the mom and babies are either dead (2 weeks ago there was extremely foul odor from the chimney which we left messages about) or have left our chimney, but NOT because of any service they have provided. We paid $514 to have a trap mis-set twice, 3 times raccoon ate all the bait out of trap but not caught, now trap and camera removed with no word from them. We've had to wait day after day, week after week, with NO response to our requests for communication. We are extremely frustrated and would just like our money back.

BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this business, please let the business know that you contacted BBB for a BBB Business Profile.

As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
