01/06/21 &01/07/21 sewer line repair at *** ********** ***** ******. was supposed to repair sewer line. Did not install gravel bed under & around sewer line to prevent settlement & seperation of connections. Ground continues to sink so cannot install cap on cleanout stand pipe at proper height. Called repeatedly & was told they would come back to correct problem.Has not done so. Would like a price adjustmemt. Work men tried to bill me for lunch break until I contested time. They corrected time charge the next day. On 01/06/21 arrived 09:15am & departed 04:15pm. Was billed a total of $760.00 that day & $785.00 on 01/07/21 for a total that day, added together $1545.00.The line was already dug out.Business response

Tony's Plumbing has been in full contact with Mr. *******. Tony's Plumbing has informed Mr. ******* that the situation would be taken care of.
Due to the heavy workload and the pandemic, we were not able to resolve this in a timely manner.
Tony's Plumbing will be reaching out to Mr. ******* for a date acceptable for both parties.
We are sorry for this inconvenience and strive for customer satisfaction.

Tony's Plumbing has been in contact with Mr. ******* regarding the issue. Mr. ******* talked to Mr. ******* last week. We are to resolve the issue 12/22/21.

Service date 8/18/21 Paid $573.00 for service or lack of Plumbing (Clogged drain and new toilet install) Plumber lied about his time on site and materials he used. I have contacted the business and they showed no intent or goodwill to resolve this issue. Plumber admitted he charged me time before he started and after he left. Plumber did not complete the toilet install properly and used wrong parts to secure the seat for which I had to re-purchase and fix myself. The total difference of time is approximately 1hr ($90). Told me that is just how it's done? I do not know the cost of what materials he used as they were not detailed in the bill. He added a random "machine fee" he says for the rent of their tools. None of these were explained to me prior. No invoice or billing # was provided on the bill. I would like to be reimbursed for the additional fraudulent time added to service, inflated materials cost, machine fee, service run & replacement parts cost for a total of $262.00.Business response

Mr. ******** sign the completion authorization for job. Agreeing with everything on invoice. Customer called with problems on invoice. After reviewing invoice we have agreed to lower bill to Service Run $40 Labor $270 Parts $138 and no charge for equipment used and hauling away old toilet. Total of $448. We will send his check back to him for $573 if he agrees to call with payment for $448. Thanks TonysCustomer response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The response from Tony's was not satisfactory. The core issues of my complaint were not addressed and reducing the bill $125 is not a sincere attempt to resolve my issue.1) No apology for fraudulent time reporting or poor toilet install (plumber didn't even let me know he had issues with the toilet seat or the parts he broke before he left, hiding the issue).
2) Still have not received an itemized bill detailing the parts and cost as promised.
3) I purchased replacement parts and installed seat myself (I paid for this service and was not completed).
4) No explanation on why the plumber charged me time twice to perform the same task when the first attempt was not successful. He told me after the first attempt that is was good to go saying "*** *** **** * **** **** **** **** ***** ***". Clearly not the case even after 2 separate attempts.
5) None of the additional cost's were ever presented to me prior to.
To respond directly to his response: Yes I did sign the invoice but didn't realize how inflated the cost were until I did the math which was after he left. After all I did need to go the work so I was in a bit of a hurry. I did call later that day to voice my concerns regarding the bill. The only response I got was "I'll have him call you". The plumber was rude and unprofessional and couldn't even answer one question....all he said was "that's just how it's done". I fail to believe reputable business's would all respond in the matter. As a small business owner myself, I know I wouldn't.
I will accept and agree to pay $400 for labor and parts. I feel this is a true and fair settlement.
