We moved here a few years ago and were told by many people to never go to St Claire if we had a medical emergency. It's so close though that I went there anyway last Summer with a high fever and a life threatening condition. After a long wait and some very unpleasant blood draws, they sent me home undiagnosed with no answers. Luckily, we then went to St Joseph in Mt Sterling and the doctor determined my condition and gave me the antibiotics that saved my life. I went to St Claire again last night (was unable to make the 45 minute trip to St Joseph) with an eardrum injury that had me in completely unbearable pain. The dr looked in my ear, said my eardrum was very irritated but not ruptured, that he was referring me to an ear specialist because I had almost no hearing in my left ear, and told me he didn't care to give me anything for pain so go home and take Tylenol. I would certainly think that treatment of an eardrum injury would include managing the pain so I could go home and sleep, but instead I sat at the kitchen table rocking back and forth in excruciating pain all night long. That was just inhumanly cruel - one of the worst nights of my life. If you have a medical emergency in this area, I recommend just going straight to St Joseph in Mt Sterling if you're able.
