The organization's Prescription Assistance program helps qualifying participants obtain free medications, which helps to provide a better quality of life for the individuals. CAP reports that over 33,000 individuals are served by CAP's Human Service programs each year. "Operation Sharing" is one of CAP's programs that acquires and distributes health products, garden supplies, food commodities, new and used clothing, and home repair materials. The organization reports that annually, over $91 million of supplies are distributed to needy people, churches, libraries, literacy programs, and social service agencies in all thirteen Appalachian states. CAP operates volunteer programs utilizing between 70 and 100 long-term volunteers and more than 700 short-term volunteers.
