On May 15, 2024 my wife and I purchased a 2021 GMC Yukon XL from Dan Cummins in Paris, Kentucky in which we also purchased extended warranty. 11 days after purchasing the car breaks down in 90 degree weather with my wife and 7 year old and 6 month old sons in the vehicle. The check engine light is on throwing a bunch of codes, won't hardly go, and is low on oil. Keep in mind they told us the oil was just changed. We call the dealership and they say we can't file a claim for 30 days and even then we would still have to pay almost $300 dollars for them to diagnose it. So we spend 60 grand on a vehicle that we also have to pay another $300 to see why its burning oil. We go ahead add two quarts oil and all seems well after that. Approximately two weeks later low oil light on again we add two more quarts of oil so FOUR quarts of oil in two weeks and there is no leaks whatsoever. Per the dealership there is no oil leaking under or around the motor but the exhaust pipe is BLACK from burning oil and also the bottom side of my car. It is also smoking when you first start driving it. We parked the vehicle on a Tuesday and called a dealership closer to us since we drove 4 hours away to get the Yukon. We took the vehicle in that following Monday and dealership gets in touch with the warranty company and they have to do an oil consumption test, however we was told if there is any "sludge" or "corrosion" they won't cover the cost to fix. If there is sludge or corrosion, how were we supposed to know this? We understand we bought as is but a 2021 vehicle should not be having these issues and us still on temporary tags. That is ridiculous. AND to beat it all we just got our registration plates in the mail and the registration is listed under the vehicle we traded in with the mileage and price of the new vehicle so we cannot even put them on the Yukon because of mismatched plates. Which is illegal and could cause the person driving it to get arrested and loose their license.

We spoke with ****** ******* and reassured him we will be sure the Yukon is mechanically the way it should be and are very sorry for the difficulties it has caused. The history of the vehicle gave us no indication of issues and we will stay in close contact until we get to the result needed. We are also looking into the registration and will quickly correct as needed.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: we are still in the process of an oil consumption test. Over the Holiday weekend the car has burned some oil and still smoking. If the car fails the oil consumption test we were informed a breakdown on the motor would be needed which seems like a lot for us to have to go through only having it such a little time. Plus being out a vehicle for however long it takes for the breakdown as well as fixing it. Dan Cummins has reach out and has stated they are reimbursing us for the oil change we had to do to start the oil consumption and have stated they are working on the title and registration. We are still on a temporary tag that is good until 7/13/24. I am rejecting for now but am willing to Accept once the car is replaced or fixed.

      Sincerely,

      ******* *******

I purchased a 2018 J*** ******** from Dan Cummins in Georgetown on April 22, 2024. The purchase price of the vehicle was $24,987. As of 5/13 the Jeep has broke down. When I called the dealership to see what they were going to do to make it right. The salesman involved in the transaction suggested I take it somewhere else and told me good luck as there wasn't much they could do. I've only had the vehicle 3 weeks. Despite what the Salesman said I paid to have it towed there anyway. I was then told I was on my own as far as a loaner car and they would let me know when they looked at it.

Thank you for reaching out to us! We are currently assisting in service with the repair, and we also extended a loaner vehicle while repairs are being made. We truly want to assist in getting your service issues resolved.

We purchased the vehicle on December 21, the vehicle was messed up, and sold to a family with 4 kids broken. So so dangerous! It had less then 50k miles on it, but the shifter and stability control system was obviously broken and sold to us with the issue. It's like the dealership wants us to pay our warranty deductible for a broken messed up van. These vehicles carrying families around, and this dealership is NOT taking accountability at all. I did inform the dealership of this, this photo is a screen shot of the dealership being informed of this.

I purchased a 2008 ******** *** from Dan Cummins Chevy dealership in Paris OH on Thursday, 2/29/24 and I paid the service center to change my engine oil and replace my breaks and rotors before taking ownership of the car. The car was ready around 5pm and I picked it up and had to drive it to Louisville, Ky an 1 hour and 15 mins away, so I wanted it to be safe. They made it more dangerous for me as the car loss all of its oil during the drive home and started bucking and shaking really bad. I fear for my life and finally made it to my home with the flashers going and then parked it in the garage and than after two hours I went to the garage to fine that the car leaked out the remaining oil, see attached image, fresh engine oil and never leaked another drop since. So I checked the dip stick, it was dry with not a speck of oil on it. I contacted the dealership sale manager ** ****** **** that next morning, Friday March 1st as I feared the engine was damaged. The car hasn’t been moved since parking it in the garage from the travel from Ohio to Louisville. I was also over charged for the oil change after being quoted a cheaper price, (see attached image) and now to fine out the car’s engine may have damage. They need to fix this issue ASAP. I was also sent home without the temp tag and was stopped by a highway police officer and that was negligence enough on their part. This whole car purchase turned out to be a nightmare. I need my engine back in running and working order as when I purchased it. Waiting the dealership help.

We have been in contact with ****** ***** daily via email and phone. The temp tag was overnighted to her the day of the sale. We have offered to pay for an additional oil change due to the fact that she claimed our service department didn't tighten something correctly. Spoke with ****** this morning and she has agreed to rescind her complaint to BBB as long as we are willing to help with the oil change. We have agreed to do so today, the vehicle is currently at *** **** in Louisville for an oil change.

The vehicle broke down back in April of 2023. It then went to Dan Cummins May of 2023 and has been there since. We are waiting on a motor for the vehicle however everyone gives us the runaround and excuses. At one point in time we even had a service advisor over the vehicle that was lying to us about the nature of the situation and have since found out. It’s been almost a year with no answers and no offer to help in any way. With this being the only vehicle we have we desperately need our truck back and we are tired of continuously being lied to about what’s going on.

We purchased a 2021 ***** ***** on 9/26/2023. The day we purchased it was a rainy day and the drivers side floor was damp they claimed it was from the detail job they done and any issues would be taken care of. So next day we took the mat out and turned the heat up and dried the floor out. Week later it rains again and under the floor mat its wet again so I called them and scheduled an appointment. They looked at it and could not find where the water is coming from. So they said they would get a third party to check the glass this was the second time in 11/29/22 and they said they couldnt find it next day 11/30 the floor board was wet from where they tested it. My wife has been sick since we have purchased the vehicle and we believe its due to mold under the carpet where its been doing this so long. The vehicle is also consuming excessive oil after 1300 miles i had to add 2 quarts of oil!!

We have scheduled the customer to have the water leak analyzed again.  It was previously looked at by a certified technician and a 3rd party company that specializes in water leaks.  Unfortunately, we did not find an issue and the customer is still having the concern.  We have also offered to provide the customer with a rental car at no charge to them.  We will find a resolution to this issue once we are able to confirm where the water leak is coming from.

Better Business bureau I accept the response from *** ******* they also have agreed to pay for the Repairs since this vehicle was having issues prior to me taking possession the amount of repairs for the water damage is roughly $4000. They will have my vehicle for another week or so and I won’t know if the repairs fixed the issue until I get it back and it sits in the rain again.

September 27th I purchased a vehicle through West Lake Financial Services from Dan Cummins of ***** *** It was reported to Dan Cummins on 9/30 that the vehicle was non functional. Dan Cummins wrongly told me there was nothing I could do. Although I provided all documentation, lender denied my request and stated that they would not file a dealer compliance complaint on Dan Cummins. I have no transportation and am responsible for a loan on a vehicle I got to drive for 4 days. I put out $1250 down payment, $400 for insurance as I could not take possession of the vehicle without it, $120 **** to the dealer, $200 repair on 10/2. Total of $1920 down the toilet only to turn around and spend another $775 to repair my wrecked vehicle for emergency use. $2695 to end up driving the wrecked vehicle I started with. I let him know that I recently had an accident had no money.that I was desperate had to wait for my direct deposit. that I live an hour and a half from the dealership and I needed to make sure the car was reliable.******** manager offered me $400-500/month. I declined. I was approved for ONE option, a ***** 9/22 I made $250 down payment to hold the vehicle. He told me the vehicle “does run and drive good”. I expected small needs. (Ex: tune up, oil change, possible AC recharge) 9/30 the car broke down. I wrote the ****** review and texted ******. (10/2)***** ******* texts and calls from ******** phone asking that I reach out to him. He asks me to remove my ****** review to allow them to “resolve” the situation.***** agreed to pay for a portion of the invoice: $425, battery $195, diagnostic $85, labor $160, tax $46.45.Dan Cummins paid $661.45 of the bill and I was responsible for $200.Once the alternator was replaced 10/2,it was re-diagnosed that the CPU was the original issue. The car wouldn’t start at all without a jump start after that. I had to purchase a jump. Drove about a week before the car overheated on way home and head gasket blew. The vehicle is unusable.

***** ******* First Initiated contact with us over the phone on September 20th, she was interested in a vehicle because she had recently wrecked her vehicle. She wanted a low payment of no more than 300 monthly and had $500 down,, we offered her the option of a 400-500 payment to see if we can get her into a car with warranty, said the payments would be too high for her.. we sent her over an option that would get her under 300 monthly payments on September 21st and needed $1250 down payment. We proceeded to present her the numbers on the vehicle and she had to talk it over with her sister before she decided on the vehicle, at that point we sent her over the link to the car on our website because it was an AS-IS car and we do not service these vehicles and our descriptions of those cars are on the website so she would be aware. ***** Could not make it in till Sept 27th to take delivery of the car as she was working on getting the 1250 Down Payment. On September 25th she was working on getting insurance on the vehicle and said once she gets that resolved,, she will be in Wednesday the 27th. The 27th of September came, and ***** said she was having trouble getting insured on the vehicle, so we helped her with some contacts we have in the insurance industry,  ***** arrived at the dealership around 6:41 Pm that evening test drove the vehicle, signed all AS-IS forms and Description and went on her way around 9PM .. we followed up with ***** on September 28th to see how everything was going and her experience with us and she responded with " It was great thank you for your help!"

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: The dealer reached out to me and offered $392 for taking my complaint down. Dan Cummins was aware that this only restarted the state minimum of an insurance policy, and only covered 5 days of the remaining policy. I also have all communication with ****** in writing. I was given ONE option for a vehicle within my budget, this ***** I was told that ******** manager approved ONE vehicle from inventory. I was told that I was on a time limit. I was told several times that I needed to quickly secure the vehicle and ****** even pressured me to esign my documents before test driving. I did reject the vehicles for $400-500/month as they were out of my budget. This detail does not justify a dealer selling a non operating vehicle. I now have an auto loan and I received 4 days of usage. $392 does not cover that. Not only that but Dan Cummins lead me on as if they were going to provide a quick resolution, so I made a deal with my insurance company and then they delayed the resolution for so long, my insurance company is no longer willing to accept this amount. I am now unemployed and have no transportation right before the holidays. I need a better resolution.

I bought a Range Rover in August 2022 a week after I bought it it started saying low coolant but never overheated and only said it once. By October 2022 it was in the garage after being at 2 different garages including Land Rover it was found to need new fuel injectors. Dan Cummins took the car in December 2022 and replaced the injectors multiple times. The car ran fine but not the best. In January 2023 they contacted me stating it was fixed and running like new. Went to go get the car and it wouldn't start. They finally gave me a rental and in April 2023 they sent it to another garage who stated the entire motor and block needed to be replaced at 10k. Dan Cummins then decided it was no longer their responsibility and did not pay for the car to be repaired or put back together. I got a car back in pieces when it went to them running.

Dear **** ******* I think I can safely say that we at Dan Cummins hate that you are having these issues. I am familiar with your circumstances as I tried to help when the circumstances were brought to my attention. However that was 4 months after the purchase (I understand you were having issues before, but we were unaware, at least to any documentation regarding phone calls and text that I can see under your profile). I recall we brought the vehicle here to repair as the Shop in Louisville diagnosed and was charging significantly more than we would to repair that issue. It would appear that the fuel injectors and gaskets needed to be replaced, but by the time it had been addressed the engine had overheated causing more damage than was initially diagnosed I have to add , and please don't think I am rubbing salt in an open wound with the problems you are facing, you were offered a mechanical warranty policy which almost certainly would have paid for these issues with only a small deductible on your part considering the vehicle had 72,831 miles at time of delivery and pre owned vehicles can experience mechanical failure at any time. All that being said I am proposing to try and trade out of this vehicle, we are happy to step up in your land rover , assuming that it can be brought to us to appraise. I realize we have tried in the past , but I am hopeful that the environment is better now than it was then, although I cannot offer to pay for a repair I can definitely step up considerably in your trade in evaluation to make it as painless as I possibly can. I hope this helps and would be eager to try and help should you choose that route. Sincerely, **** *****

I purchased a vehicle From Dan Cummins in December of 2022. With a $1500 down payment. Payments of $201 a month. On the way leaving the establishment the vehicle cuts off. But starts rite back up so i sent a text over to ***** (*** *******) my salesman. So he told me to let him know if anything else. Well officially 3 days later i am on the interstate leaving a job the car cuts completely off in the middle of the road. Try to start it back up would not. Eventually started up enough to pull it to the side of the road. I immediately call my mother and tell her she told me to call back up there. Call they were like we had no issues with the truck but we did not have the truck serviced either. Which is something that was not told to me during purchasing the vehicle. He told me to let him know if it doesn’t start back up. So i waited around finally got it to start back up drove it home. Otw home it literally started slugging soon as i got in to town. Pulled it straight into a mechanic shop they serviced it and told me basically it would need a new engine. In time the truck is just gonna stop and eventually would not start up at all. Let Dan Cummins know and they told me that that basically the car is sold as is. They never once told me it hadn’t been serviced until i had the first issue. They told me also when i called no warranty. I have had the truck for 4-5months now and it has been at the mechanic shop for 2 months unable to drive. I still have to make payments on it a month and full insurance. Dan cummins is the first time i ever went to a dealership for a car. And by far has been the worse experience of my life with my 3 children catching rides on a car ive only had for 5months.

***** ***** come in to purchase a vehicle at Dan Cummins on Nov 21' 2022. She wanted to purchase a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox with 163404 miles that was advertised "as traded". The salesman and myself explained to her that means the vehicle had never been serviced. We talked about cost of ownership, repairs ect. ,this car is an alternative to a services car. We proposed a 2017 Jeep Compass that had been through service and could get warranty for $317 a month with $1000 down. Customer declined. Said $200 payment was most important to her. If she needed a repair her Father worked in the car business and had mechanics that can help. ****** even Signed multiple as is forms and a description explaining condition and the fact that this vehicle has no guarantee. Which I can provide for you if needed. Then days after purchase ****** had an issue with car. Submitted a bad review about Dan Cummins which prompted a call from me. Call her and she said make my car payment and I will take down review. So we made her car payment and she put up another bad review. Then a few months later we get another bad review. I call ****** and ask her what is going on. She said she took the Car to *******'s Mechanic Service and she paid him $2200 and the car is still not running. Asked why she didn't call me and she said because I bought an as traded vehicle. After all of this I called ******* and he said car needed a new engine. Sent me an invoice for $2756 for a new motor installed. Dan Cummins offered to contribute $1000 towards the new motor on her as traded vehicle. ****** said it's all or nothing.

I am rejecting this response because: Dan Cummins has did nothing but offer me $200 off of a Payment that they offered too me in the beginning when i told them about all the trucks problems. Before me actually taking it to a mechanic shop and them telling me that it would need a whole new engine. My vehicle is still down i am still with out a Vehicle that i am paying on monthly! I’ve already put $2800 into the vehicle and it still does not run! I put up a Review on there Site letting people know of there bad business and that they are basically selling bad cars! And they did reach out too me saying “They wanted to help” but has not helped me in any type of way they basically told me after the fact they cant help me. So bothering me once again to let me down once again. I have 3 children and i am missing work, trying to find transportation, to school and work to daycare and home, for months. So i decline and i will take this situation as far as i can. Ive worked hard saved hard to be bamboozled by Dan cummins more then once!

Ms. ****** brought her vehicle to us in September for some concerns totaling $2200.00.  She did not pay anything for these repairs to be completed.  What the service contract did not cover, Dan Cummins paid for. She brought her vehicle back to us in December with  some additional concerns.  She paid her $100.00 deductible for the repair the service contract covered and paid a $45.00 diagnostic charge for a brake concern that she declined the repairs on.
