Woman's billing called day prior to pre-op OV informing $651 is needed to be paid at C/I towards deductible per BCBS for surgery. Pre-op DOS 02/02/22, checked in- clerk did not mention about owing $651. Brought it up and clerk proceeded to collect $651. Saw OB/GYN and sent for lab work. Lab was aware of amount charged from receipt in paperwork. Nothing said at C/I of surgery DOS 02/09/22. Noticed all filed claims and EOB had no amount applied to deductible. Called BCBS and they were never made aware deducible was satisfied and processed filed claims at $0 applied. Called Woman's billing for lab charges when deductible was satisfied PRIOR TO RENDERING LAB SERVICES. Was told because lab/hospital are billed different resulted in those statements. Made rep aware CPC coder- know how medical billing/claim processing works. Billing must not be very competent. Transferred to OB/GYN nurse about charged amount to get me off the phone. Please explain to me (reviews ins claim disputes for a living), why do I need to speak with a clinician about lab services not rendered/billed by OB/GYN to figure out where my "$651 needed per BCBS" went? If the lab charges are sent to collections after speaking to billing, will report filed claims for suspected fraud.
