I am writing to you to complain about the service my friend and I had in November at the Chimes East Restaurant. We ate there on the afternoon of November 6, 2023. I was visiting the Baton Rouge area from New England. We sat at the bar for cocktails and appetizers. There were several troubling issues. First, your server **** *. ignored us. We had to demand her attention for everything and anything service. She was intentionally inattentive, rude, and unhelpful; not to mention liqcer of her responsibilities. The lack of Communication was poor and curt. Service was slow and unacceptable. The experience was unpleasant and disappointing. I've made two attempts via the restaurant website contact form to share my experience with Chimees East. Additionally, I asked to be contacted for further discussion and that an invitation be extended to the two of us as comped guests of management to have a redo Chimes East experience. It seems to me this is something the restaurant would want to do. All attempts to communicate with The Chimes East have gone unresponded to. Earlier this week, I telephoned, and still nothing. thus my concerns are unaddressed and unresolved.

On Thursday December 28, I called in an order for a cup of gumbo and gator bites. I arrived at the location on Coursey Blvd at 1:53pm. I paid for my food and proceeded to work. Upon entering my work location I sat down to eat my food and found hair in my gator bites. I called the location and asked for a manager, the manager wouldn’t come to the phone and had an employee tell me there was nothing they could do for me without bringing the food back. The employee said she was so sorry and I told her I needed to speak to the manager. After waiting 17mins the manager got on the phone and stated she would need me to bring the food back because my kind is always trying to steal from them. I asked her for the General Manager and she stated she was. I asked her for corporate and she stated there was no corporate office and she was the best I was going to get. I then called the Highlsnd location and asked for the General Manager and was told the General Manager was off, however after 10 minutes of holding a guy named *** got on the phone and stated he was the General Manager of both the highland and coursey location. He never apologized for my experience and stated if that’s what the manager said that’s how it is. This is not how you treat guest. They did not have to treat me that way. I will never go to Chimes and would advise people of color to stay away

I went to Chimes East on Friday,4/14/23. When I received my salad, there was an eyelash in the bowl with my salad. I asked for a manager, *** came to the table and had no remorse whatsoever. Instead of apologizing he immediately told me, that he don't know how that could have gotten in my salad because all of his employees wear gloves and hair nets. It made me feel he was insinuating that I must of put it there. He ruined my meal, my appetite, and my outing with my family. I told him I wasn't happy, his attitude and demeaner was horrible being that he is a manger. My mom then spoke in and told him he was basically unapologetic and was acting as if he didn't care. He then did a "fake" and forced smile and ask did I want it remade because he don't know what else I want him to do. He was rude and unprofessional as a manger and lacked a lot of empathy. I told him I was disgusted from the eyelash in the food, even more disgusted by his attitude as a manger. We asked for to-go boxes, paid and left the restaurant, very unsatisfied. I tried to hold off on doing this complaint but its now going on 2 weeks and I have not received a call back yet to resolve this issue. The managers are saying there is no one else above them to handle this situation. I called The Chimes on Highland (b/c no one at Chimes east was helping me) to see if I can get someone in upper management and they told me they will have to give the person my contact information, that they can't give out the number. Its going on 2 weeks and no one called. After leaving the restaurant and spending $50 and left unsatisfied, eyelash in my food, and treated completely horrible; I checked my bank account to find extra money taken off my card for a tip. Although, all I experienced that day, a cash tip was left on the table. So, why was money taken from my card. I called the restaurant and *** the manager told me he don't know how it happened and couldn't give me an explanation but refunded the amount that was taken.
