      I booked two rooms at the hotel in question for one night for a Louisiana trip with by siblings, checkin in June 15 and check out June 16. After checkin in, we headed out to dinner and in the elevator we encountered two men, one of them was smoking a blunt, which is a cigar that has been hollowed out and filled with cannabis, which is an illegal substance in Louisiana. After we got into our car, we discussed the matter and agreed we did not feel good or safe about the situation and decided to find another hotel. We managed to book into another hotel and then reported the problem to Wingate and asked for our money back. I believe the hotel failed to provide safe environment and was laxed with illegal activity, and we should not be expected to accept this service or pay for it. I contacted Wyndam customer service by phone, provided the full details including the receipts of the other hotel where we ended up after we left Wingate. I did not get any response. I am attaching the customer care email and the receipt of the hotel where we ended up after leaving Wingate.

      We regret that the guest had to contact you and our office regarding their concerns with the property. Each property is independently owned and operated under a franchise. This means that the property’s management is responsible for meeting brand standards and for day-to-day operations.

      We are a nonsmoking facility with smoke detectors throughout our hotel to ensure he safety of our guest. 

      Attached is a screenshot of the guest accused of smoking a blunt in the elevator.  They are casually walking and talking but definitely not smoking. Refund is still being denied.
