      I had Songy's Home Repair to send a technician out to replace my oven knob, thermostat and the igniter for my front burner. I was at work and the technician spoke with me on the phone and told me that the company had sent an igniter for the oven, instead of the one for the burner. I told the technician that I needed him to provide a statement saying that the company had sent the wrong part, so that I could send it back. He was very reluctant and became argumentative. He said, I don't know who sent it. I told him that it was still in the package which verifies who sent it. He still was adamant about putting a statement on the receipt. He installed the thermostat and the oven knob and placed the range back between the cabinets. My husband told me that the igniter was still on the counter in the package. I saw the technician walk outside on my camera. He came back inside to bring the receipt and get his bag. When he left, my husband say he noticed that the igniter was missing. All of the old parts were in the package except the igniter, which he told his employer that he had installed. I spoke to the owner/manager (maybe) and he said that the technician said he put the igniter on the range. He stole my igniter and I want it replaced. Why would he put it on when clearly I told him that I was sending it back? How could he put it on when he had put the range back into place with the igniter laying on the counter.? He had taken my new igniter, and lied about having installed it.

      We had a dryer that was making a grinding / squeaking noise while the drum was turning. The technician that came out, *****, "repaired" the dryer in about two hours and left; the charge was $164. We started washing and drying clothes immediately after, and on the first use after ***** left, the dryer started making the noise again. We called and got an appointment scheduled for the following Wednesday, June 29. ***** again came out and "repaired" the problem and left. We again started washing and drying clothes and again the noise started. My husband looked in the dryer to make sure there was nothing rubbing the sides, and noticed that they technician had not even put the drum in correctly; it was off set and there was tubing or something showing that should have not been seen. My husband took pictures and recorded the sound of the dryer and immediately called ***** again. The next day, ***** came out and took apart the dryer and reset the drum and left. Thursday, June 30, we were drying clothes and the noise started up again. ***** AGAIN came out, said that the drum was the problem after all, even though we already paid for a repair. He put the dryer back together and said we could use it until he could get the part, but it would squeak. Friday, June 30, ***** came out with another technician. They took apart the dryer to work on it, then realized that the "new" part had some gouges in it. We went to wash one last load of clothes with the squeak and the dryer was left disassembled when they left earlier in the day. My husband AGAIN called ***** (around 4:30pm) to see if he could at least come back and put it back together so we could use it. ***** then told my husband that he could not put it back together, because they had broken a part in their attempt to repair it. On Monday, July 5th, ***** finally came out to repair the dryer. He fixed the dryer and then presented us with a bill for $38, even though he didn't refund the original amount.

While our technicians are well-trained and prepared for most situations, mistakes can still occur and we take responsibility for any misdiagnosis or mistake that may have taken place while doing business with you. Due to this, only one diagnosis/labor fee was charged during our four visits. The other fees were for the parts needing to be replaced as they were worn, not damaged by our technician. We strive to be as helpful and reasonable as possible towards our customers and apologize if you do not feel as if we met these goals.
