I am formally lodging a complaint regarding the accelerated 3-month dental assisting course I attended at Accelerated Dental School from January 2024 to March 2024. I am extremely disappointed with the quality of the program and feel that it did not meet the standards that were promised when I enrolled. Despite paying $3,700 for the course, the program was severely lacking in essential materials. My classmates and I were forced to share the limited resources available, which significantly hindered our learning experience. Furthermore, upon conducting my own research, I discovered that the program is not certified on the accredited dental assisting website. This crucial information was not disclosed to us prior to enrollment, and it greatly diminishes the value of the education we received. The disorganization of the lesson plans and the insufficient time allocated for the clinical portion of the course were additional issues. We had minimal hands-on practice, which is essential for a dental assisting program. Moreover, the promise to mail our certificates was not fulfilled; instead, we had to print them ourselves at our own expense. It has been four months since I completed the course, and neither I nor multiple students from my class have been able to secure employment. The dental offices that are in the area do not even accept certificates from this institution for employment because of the illegitimately education that's provided. This further underscores the inadequacy of the training provided by your institution. Given these significant shortcomings, I request a full refund of the course fee so that I can enroll in a certified program that will properly prepare me for a career as a dental assistant. I look forward to your prompt response and a satisfactory resolution to this matter.

In regards to complaint id: 22011552. Accelerated Academy's operations team has communicated that per our enrollment agreement verbiage, we do not guarantee job placement post graduation. We do however offer career guidance through our company which assists with resume development, communication strategy and where to look for jobs. This is provided to students via the Career Services Course. This student last accessed this course on March 14, 2024 and still has access to it as a resource. Our Career Services Department has a Career Coach that reaches out to students on a monthly basis to check in with students and offer support in the hiring process. Courtney did let us know that she was having difficulties getting hired, and our Career Coach tried on several occasions coaching her through the hiring process. ******** ******** is disgruntled due to not finding a job and has continually attempted to degrade our organization and attempt to force a refund. We have attempted multiple times to have a conversation with Courtney to lean in and support her and her pursuit of a career; and have only been met with negativity and poor communications.

I am rejecting this response because:

I appreciate the follow-up, though I must clarify several points regarding my experience with the Accelerated Academy program. At no way shape or form was I behaving in a disgruntled manner. I asked for a refund due to the lack of resources and training and your representative got disgruntled with me and even hung up on me over the phone which is unprofessional and displays that this program is illegitimate.

However, my concerns go beyond job placement, focusing primarily on the quality of the program, the lack of adequate resources, and unmet promises, which I believe compromised my readiness for a career in dental assisting.

      1) Quality of Training: The course did not provide the necessary hands-on experience and materials to meet entry-level standards in dental assisting. For example, there was minimal opportunity for practical training, as X-rays were only performed on models, just ONE model in particular and not humans, and facilities were cramped to one small office, limiting effective learning. There were 15 students in my class each of us paid $3700, that’s 55,000 worth and we had to share supplies and one dummy to perform procedures on. Where is the money going towards?

2.Lack of Accreditation and Certification: Despite expectations set by the program, I have not received certification documents in the mail, which has created additional obstacles in finding employment. Proper certification is essential in this field, and its absence has directly impacted my job prospects. Me and Several Students in my class thought we would be able to sit for the registered dental assistant test, and unfortunately we aren’t because this course isn’t accredited but the website states that we would be certified and that was false.

3.Inadequate Career Support: While I understand job placement is not guaranteed, I was not aware that career support would be limited to the Career Services Course, which did not address the core issues created by the program’s lack of preparedness. The communication I received was minimal to only one short phone call and no follow up. It did not resolve the challenges I’ve encountered.

I have also noted several other complaints online from past students who reported similar issues with the program. Many of them, like myself, have faced difficulties in finding employment and expressed dissatisfaction with the course’s quality and outcomes. This pattern of feedback suggests that these issues are not isolated to my experience.

Given these widespread concerns and my direct experience with the program’s deficiencies, I am requesting a full refund due to unmet expectations and inadequate preparation. My concerns are about the program’s structure and quality, not solely the job market, as I have followed up with resources and networking as advised but have encountered significant barriers due to the lack of comprehensive training.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope we can resolve this fairly and amicably.

      Sincerely,

      ******** ********
