    On April 12, 2022, I gave *********************** owner or Roof Guardian LLC, a deposit of $1,000 for a new roof. He originally wanted me to write the deposit check for my entire hurricane deductible which was about $5,600. I refused as I thought that was unreasonable. I should've known then that he was a shyster. He took the check and deposited it. He suggested to me that I get his guy, an adjuster named *****, to come to my house to do an appraisel to get new decking covered. He stated that he would incur this cost. On May 20th, ******* texted me that and appraiser had been appointed and had reached out to ***** and an inspection should be scheduled. I spoke to ***** just this one time and he stated he would be out to my house within 48 hours. This did not happen. I was informed by ******* that ***** was currently tied up with another job that had unforeseen issues. He stated that this should be resolved shortly and he would be at my house within the next two weeks. Again, this didn't occur. On June 20th I texted ******* for an update. He responded stating that he would contact the appraiser *****. He stated that ***** would be contacting me with any information. He did not. I texted ***** soon after and he didn't respond. I notified ******* on July 8th that I hadn't gotten an update and would like to get one. On July 11th I recieved a call from ******* stating that ***** would be at my house withing a week. This, again, did not happen. On July 22nd I informed ******* that I wanted my deposit back as I need a new roof for hurricane season to have protection for my daughter and me. I have since sent multiple texts requesting my $1,000 deposit back which he has refused to return. I am a single mother and work very hard for my money. I notified him that I would be filing a claim with the BBB and his response is basically that he has a contract. It has been nearly four months and nothing has been done. He is refusing to return my $1,000 which speaks volumes as to his character.
