1 starADT SOLAR was a total scam. I have filed 3 complaints with the ******************** about this because I honestly believe I was lied to and scammed about these solar panels. The *** have now told me to contact the States Attorney General. I have a contract that states my payments will only be ****** a month and it's never been that and now being told it will be even higher than I'm paying now. I also have a contract that states I will get a ****** incentive I filed my taxes this year and only recieved ***** and I have to send that to the loan provider to try and not get a monthly bill increase. The supposedly company that signed me up for this was ADT SOLAR and they have since then shut down no longer in service and I contacted a ADT *** who stated those that was walking door to door selling that service was not even actual ADT **** it was some 3rd party using the name. This solar idea was sold to me under false terms, it all sounded good but it has been a total nightmare. I cannot afford an increase and I am waiting on my tax refund so that I can send that portion in. I also was told that I will get checks for unused solar credits which in the year i have not recieved anything and i know im not using the full power. I am also going to be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well because this was a complete scam. My electric bill was only ****** a month there is no savings here with solar as explained to me as i am paying ****** a month now with the threat of increase if i dont send the ***** that i have not recieved yet in to the loan provider. I am lost and do not know what to do.Review fromMichael R

1 starI wish I could give zero stars. They sold a worthless bill of goods and then went out of business. No warranty support, holes in the ground unfilled, sinking patches where they dug under my driveway, unfulfilled promises like light bulbs, new thermostats, oh and best of all, no energy savings and zero credits.Review fromjoanne l

1 starI purchased 3 arrays of solar panels and a battery backup from ADT that went on line less than 2 years ago. I was informed my Gateway is not reporting. In an attempt to contact ADT, I was referred to Envoy. Envoy has a separate O&M office that deals strictly with ADT customers. Without going into great detail, Envoy said when ADT "backed out", not everything would be covered under their 15 year warranty. Two such things are apparently service calls and Gateways. So Envoy said it would cost me $300+ for a service call, and if the gateway needs replaced, that would be another $700+. So I'm looking at $1100 repair of a less than two year old $65,000 Solar purchase. It says little about the quality of this Envoy system, and even less of the ADT company and their customer care. Bar none, the worst Murphys Law purchase I've ever made. It may just be these companies, but this experience makes me question solar integrity as a whole. I should've gone with a backup generator, because all of my electric "savings" are now needed to repair this system.

1 starIn December 2023 my wife ****** **** who had handled our finances for over 45 years passed away. Discovering that our *********** which we had used for over 30 years was in her name only, I contacted ADT to have the account put in my name. I was told that I couldn't continue the service without signing a new contract. I explained that with my wife's passing, I would probably be selling my home and moving to a smaller one within a short time and may or may not need their service. I was assured that if I moved within the contract period, I would not be held to the contract. A few months later I advised *** that I was in fact moving and needed the service discontinued. I was told I would have to pay a cancellation fee of $439.73. I reminded the person taking the call of my previous understanding with ADT, but it didn't matter. I owed the cancellation fee. As an out, the representative said the cancellation fee would be waived, if I got their service at the new home. The new home was already wired for ADT and since the annual monthly service was less then the cancellation fee I agreed to the service and signed a Docusign agreement for 2 years service. When the installer arrived to hookup the service, I was advised that the new *** ************** was incompatible with the existing hardwired service and would have to accept the new limited ADT ************** which did not cover all of the entrances to my new home. When I told the technician I didn't want the new system, he removed the equipment and advised me that I would have to sign his "work order" online so that he could get paid. When I received his Docusign "work order" it wasn't a work order, but rather a Docusign contract from *** obligating me for 3 years of ***********. I refused to sign it and the service technician went on his way.. I am almost 86 years old, have a credit score over 826 with the 3 credit bureaus and I refuse to pay these people. They should be thanking me for my past service with them.Review fromJoseph H

1 starWe had solar panels installed on our house when it was still under SunPro solar the representative lied about the savings we would have. Our light company doesnt recognize/acknowledge the solar program so we have been fighting to even get any money back which we usually get about $25 back every three or four months. Now we are stuck with a note for 25 years and we cannot seem to ever get anyone on the phone or get anything resolved. We do not want the solar panels anymore. They are a big rip off and a scam. I recommend no one getting them because it is just a waste of money!!!Review fromCarlos D

1 star*** operates more like a fraudulent enterprise than a legitimate home security company. They have systematically trained their customer service and sales teams to deceive customers in order to meet sales targets. Sales representatives mislead customers by making false promises, hiding fees, and obscuring the true terms of ************* of ***'s most troubling practices is using subsidiaries like ADT Live Smart to avoid responsibility. These subsidiaries exist to deflect blame, especially when customers face issues with equipment or loans. *** directs customers to these subsidiaries, which claim to operate independently but are, in fact, a shield for *** to evade accountability.ADT representatives frequently promise waived fees or flexible contract terms verbally, but these promises rarely make it into the final contract. Customers are then left locked into long-term financial obligations they never fully understood. Equipment loans, hidden within contracts, can last for years, and many customers realize they are trapped only when they try to cancel services or resolve issues. This behavior creates a cycle where ADT shifts responsibility between their own company and subsidiaries, leaving customers with no resolution. This lack of transparency and refusal to take accountability is unethical.ADT's customer service further exacerbates the problem by transferring calls endlessly between departments, wasting customers' time and energy without offering real solutions. The entire system appears designed to frustrate customers into giving up on their ************* conclusion, ***'s business practices revolve around deceit, using its subsidiaries and opaque contract terms to trap customers in long-term commitments. Consumers should be wary of doing business with them, as escaping from their contracts often requires legal action.Review fromJulie S

1 starBad business practices. Bought a solar system and was lied to repeatedly. Now the company will only respond through an automated system which is of no help. When salesman came and we purchased the system, we were promised, no power bill for 5 years. Military discount and be independent from grid. And also that we would get a 9,949.50 credit from the federal government. Yeah right. Maybe over a period of several years but not at one time. All that was lies. They sold me a system that is too small to fulfill my needs and placed the system in the wrong direction for me to get maximum use of the panels. I have a payment for the system at 221 dollars a month on top of power bill which I was not supposed to have. ADT SOLAR offered me a one time payment of $176.51 to compensate me for under production. My quote one year review was September 1, 2024. Cannot get any response except something that keeps telling me to contact my power company. Totally unacceptable business practices. Would not recommend ADT for any services they offer.
