    I was involved in a collision that was the fault of their customer and have had the worst experience. It has now been over 4 months and they have yet to pay for my vehicle being totaled out even though they have my car in their procession. Everyone I have had to deal with from customer service **** on their ***** line to loss consultants do not answer the phone. Voicemails do not get returned and even if you contact the extra help after leaving a voicemail the person I talked to said I would need to get in contact with the person I was already dealing with waste of time giving them all the claim information. My claim *** is very short with me when we do get in contact and very quick to hang up. The only pleasant experience I had was with an after hours contact center ***resentative who answered and was confused why I got her considering it was a Wednesday at 2 pm central. Also SICK of hearing Shaq just to be sent to voicemail.

    The customer service when filing a claim is absolutely terrible. I have been working with ****** ***** who on multiple occasions basically accusing me of being dishonest. I pay way too much money for coverage to not feel supported or even a hair of empathy from the reps. ***** disappointing.

    I had automobile insurance with them for a year. When my renewal came up the premium doubled. So I looked for insurance with other companies. On June 30th I called to cancel. On august 15th I got a letter from ********** of ***** Vehicle saying I didnt have insurance for 5 days. I looked back on the General account and THEY canceled the policy on the 21st not the 30th. So I had a flag on my license and it cost me $152 to reinstate my license. They lied to try to get me insured back with the. So said recorded line but they can fix that too.

    I agree and attest to all the previous reviews. Unfortunately, the BBB does not allow consumers to file a complaint for The General underhandedly and unjustly charging for unwanted premiums. I am being charged for where I live although I have no accidents, tickets, or claims within the past 5 years. I have been a customer for 3 years and all of a sudden, from last year to this year, my premium is almost twice the cost. Insurance everywhere is getting over on consumers but this company is doing it and not willing to answer phone calls with human beings on the line. It is HORRIBLE! As of today, I have cancelled the policy in hopes that I can receive a refund for the renewal fee.

    Be careful when you do business with the General Auto Insurance company as they can be misleading. They gave me a quote for $1,366.00 and they made a transaction for $10,666.00 while I was still on the phone with them. I then received the text message from my bank, and I told the representative to cancel the transaction because I was charged with a different amount from what he told me. He said he could not do it and he transferred me to another person that told me I would have to do a cancelation process. They however did not let me do it in the moment and I know have to wait to get my money back. I emailed the cancellation notice but have yet received a response.

    I only gave a star because it wouldnt let me continue they do not deserve a star at all! This company is awful to deal with. Agent *********************** ignores your phone calls and emails and still have no resolution to my accident. I would never recommend The General Auto Insurance to anyone

    The general is a company that does what they want when they want. They also STEAL MONEY. I advise everyone to check your statements and your policy TRUST ME. I have 3 cars. I set up full coverage on Two. And Liabilty on my truck that is barely moved. Only to find out a year later that the papers they sent me and my policy was wrong. In their system they put full coverage on the truck that does not move and didn't have it 9n the car that carries my children and wife. After a year of them taking money from me to pay for something I didn't want I called to renew my policy and found out then that it was totally wrong. And spoke to 3 people that said I would have to pay $300 to have it switched from.truck to family car. ****** off and no time to change it I paid the $300 got confirmation that my policy had been updated. So now family car is full covered and my second car. And the truck just liability. Great perfect. Got sent new policy It was the way I wanted it. Called 3 months later being Today to find out why my insurance is higher. Only to be told well you have full coverage on the truck still and **************** on my other car. Still talked to 2 other people that said they can't tell me why or who ****** up. And there is nothing I can do but I can pay for another policy change. Wtf I will be doing everything I can to go after them all calls are recorded I have been given confirmation numbers that policy was changed and accurate only to be told AGAIN on there system its taking more $ bc I'm still paying for the truck that I was told was taking off 3 **** times from 3 different managers. BBB needs to look into them immediately I can't imagine me and my family are the only ones being scammed by multi million dollar company. And you can't get any of the higher up people on the phone, email or nothing they brush it under the rug bc they don't care who they rob and steal from. Investigate this company and all policy's.

    I got a quote on 11/30/23 that jumped from $114 to $167 over a day. I paid $167.48 down payment spread out over 12 months. Next payment due on12/28/23. Oh I'm sorry the next payment is due before the 28th. Their payment due dates are very deceptive. Then after I sign everything they changed the payment amount for 12/28/23 payment without proper notification. It gets much worse, they send me an email saying something about canceling. And make a request for my utility bill, for residency verification .I've been driving for over 36 years and not one insurer made this strange request. I've already requested a full refund. Nobody have responded to my email or fax..something is very wrong with this company. ..racial profiling for auto insurance. There is no relevancy for auto insurance and my utility bill..period. ********************* shouldn't allow this madness. But of course the ones who cry " I'm not a racist" are the ones pushing it.
