I cosigned a home loan for my son. Both of our contact information was provided to the original mortgage company with explicit instructions that I be notified of any issues -- standard then bought the loan. My son missed a couple payments; however, I was never notified (I'm not sure he was either). My notification was a credit report indicating there was a problem. It was very difficult to get the account caught back up taking another week or so to set it right. In that time the account went another month overdue in spite of us trying to send them money to catch the account up. With some difficulty, I got the contact information updated, so I'm being contacted with any mortgage information (but now my son isn't being contacted). On a couple occasions, I asked that a letter be provided indicating I was never notified about the delinquent account (they seemed to believe we lived in the same household...the contact info would show 2000 miles separated us) -- they refused. Since the loan to value was about 60%, I asked that the *** be removed ... they refused...even when I offered to pay it down more. Basically, they never bothered letting me know there was a problem, but they had no problem notifying the credit agencies. We'll be dropping Standard Mortgage as soon as the fed rate drops.

For the last few months my mortgage payment has been reported to the credit bureaus as 30 days late. The payments have all been made within the 30 days allowed by the law and should NOT have been reported as late. They were paid through their online portal and cleared my account within 2 days following. I have disputed and had corrected but the premature reporting is my complaint!

This is my first time buying my own home. Judging by previous reviews, this seems to be a normal thing for this company. They do not care about you. They do not prioritize you. Barely answer phone calls. They do not deserve business. I got a letter in the mail stating my taxes were delinquent. Yet, they came out of my escrow account. I have all receipts and closing papers. I've talked to 3 different people now. They act like they're going to fix the issue then disappear. Ive been trying for 4 days now to resolve an issue that could have been resolved in less than an hour if it would have just been made a priority. Instead, they wanna give me the run around. My county has been helping me more with this situation than they have. I miss my original mortgage company and wish they would not have sold to this company. The way Standard Mortgage operates is INSANE and I wish I could get away from them sooner.I was trying to give the benefit of the doubt and not submit this review but I received a call back on 12-3-24, and she had an attorney on the phone. Her name is ********* and last name starts with an A. She was very polite although I was promised a phone call on Wednesday morning 12-4-24, with an update on the situation because i've gotten nothing but the run around. Waited all day, I never received a call. The attorney himself said he was going to start working on this first thing that morning and I haven't heard anything from anyone. At this point i'm passed frustrated. I don't know how they have stayed in business so long judging by all the other reviews. I don't understand why it isn't being made a priority. An additional payment for a completely different amount has been taken out of my escrow for property taxes as of December 5th 2024 and still have not received a response regarding the first issue. Now no one will answer my calls. Most unprofessional experience I have ever had in my life.

My brother passed away and left his house to my other brother, I called and spoke with a customer service representative named ********* (hopefully I spelled her name correctly). She was a blessing, she walked us through the steps to make sure my brother could continue making the payment on the house and how to add me as an authorized person to speak so I can make sure we sending the payment to the right address. Every time we have a question and call her shes always kind and polite and helpful. Being able to talk with someone whose patient makes me proud to be a customer at *********************************************. Its because of her that I have been recommended my friends and church members to go with Standard Mortgage. Every time I talk to her I hang up with a better understanding of why the payment increase and what a shortage is. Still having trouble getting the payment to come straight out of the bank account but thats definitely not Standard Mortgage fault thats my bank fault, but I am happy that once she got me to another department and I explained the situation they were able to waive the late fee and allow me time to send in a payment.

We have had a recent insurance change for our home in *******. In assuring that all steps were completed, I called the customer service phone number and spoke first with Amari. She was incredibly helpful, professional and kind. I called today to ensure I knew the correct payment amounts moving forward and spoke to **********. She too was very helpful, professional and kind. In an Era where too often **************** is lacking, I very much appreciated these two.

I think they have a side scam running in Escrow. 60, totally disabled, fixed income with a fund for the Mortgage, which has no Dec payment left. Opportunity must have been right, I was paying **** for Homeowners, and **** per month. Fund earns over 2, so not much wiggle room. No reason to worry but why have they sent a new Payment book?Due in 2 days is over ******* for 4 months! Huh, oh your homeowners went from 4-9000 and we paid it. So see ya, basically. It was end of July before they cancelled it and I had bought a ******* new policy elsewhere and STD paid. Note should drop to ****? Fine by me. They refused quietly, to tell me how I can trust them with the redistribution of that money. Just let us refigure. Progressive wrote it to me and warned me not to give Std a cent until I get the accounting. Man they didnt bother, and they all, prolly 8 calls or more, said, we wont know until your Escrow is refigured. I was under State Farm only and told I had obtained a large refund, since August. A challenge was issued, not only will we keep charging, we wont say why. Well I finally found out. ******, Mrs ********** tried to get me to pay both Oct/Nov at ******* and shed refigure my note, READY FOR DEC 1. What? I told you I have the check. She offered up a much lower new payment of ******* waay more than I saved. So, she was extorting me for that bulk check and forget my ****, refund, she planned to spoon ************ slowly. No cash, no accountability, no escrow explanation. T This new note will shut him up. Really? Im paying their increases from their portion, its all I can do, more than they deserve.

Thank you for being a Standard Mortgage Corporation (SMC) customer. As with many in south *********, your homeowners insurance policy premium doubled, which resulted in an escrow shortage and monthly payment increase after SMC paid the premium to your insurance carrier. You subsequently obtained a new homeowners policy with a new carrier and SMC submitted that premium payment also, which further increased your shortage, deficiency, and monthly payment. After you cancelled the previous policy, the insurance carrier issued you a refund check and SMC advised you, multiple times, to deposit the check into your escrow account to offset the shortage and lower your payment. However, your prior carrier misadvised you not to send SMC the check. Following your conversations with the ******************** Manager, you made payments, satisfied the shortage and your payment has been reduced.

******* Agent number 34176 was by far the rudest agent I spoke with. I've spoke with several agents but she was of no help and kept repeating herself and talking over me as I tried to explain to her about how my uploaded documents were not received. She should be fired for how she talks to customers. I've had taco bell talk to people better than how ******* talked to me.

The most incompetent company I have ever had the misfortune to have to deal with. They make numerous errors and then blame you for their errors. I boggles my mind how so many incompentant people stay employed here.

From my experience dealing with numerous mortgage companies, I can safely testify to the fact that Standard Mortgage displays a level of incompetence I have yet to see. Sadly, our initial mortgage was sold to Fannie Mae and is being "administered" by Standard Mortage of New Orleans, LA. They seem incapable of crediting our mortgage account with payments. They seem incapable of internal intradepartmental communications. We have experienced the receipt of impertinent and erroneous letters and emails. The customer service department and loan "counselors" are joke-worthy. I am chagrined that we have to endure this level of fecklessness! Signed, John C, A very unhappy customer
