My 2015 Jeep Cherokee has been at this dealership since July 20,2022 due to a fire on the inside of the vehicle which appeared to have originated near the center console. After the fire was out and the vehicle was powered on, it began flashing multiple error codes on the dashboard. The gearshifter was also difficult to put in gear and/or change gears. Communication was attempted on a regular basis by myself with little details provided each time. Fast forward 13.5 weeks and the Jeep is said to be ready for pickup. Payment was rendered from Progressive and my deductible was paid and pickup scheduled. Upon picking up the vehicle on Friday 10-21-22 at approximately 9:45 p. m, my husband stopped to put gas in the jeep and then headed east in I-20. He noticed within minutes of driving the jeep that it was still showing numerous error codes on the dash and was not accelerating properly and smoking. At this time, a flat was also noted on the back passenger tire. He immediately pulled into the rest area near Choudrant and we contacted **** regarding the issue. She advised us that she would call the tow truck and take it back to the dealership. The following Monday morning I contacted **** to inquire about the status of the jeep and was told that no diagnostic had been done yet but it was noted that we had a major oil leak. The vehicle was not leaking oil or it was not communicated to us that there was an issue with an oil leak on Friday when scheduled for pickup. I was also told that the vehicle had been repaired "for what I brought it in for originally". I disagree with that because I brought the vehicle in due to a malfunction that in turn caused an interior fire and substantial cosmetic damage (carpet, leather seats, etc). So, the issue that I have now is that the dealership is saying that they fixed the problem that I brought it in for, however I disagree bc the source of the fire/problem that caused the fire hasn't been identified or fixed.
