              I have used Shreveport Bossier family Dental for years when Covid hit I had an appointment and I never came back. I called to schedule a cleaning which is free in my insurance. They refused to see me because my Ex owed them money. Even after me telling them that we don’t share the same insurance or address. They still wouldn’t not see me. My account shouldn’t have anything to do with his account. Well apparently he told me that he paid them $1000 something dollars for dental and he paid cash and they told him that everything was paid. several months down the road. They sent him a bill telling him he owed more money. Upon talking to my coworkers they said this happened to them too so that’s why they stopped going. But again that has nothing to do with me so why am I being punished for what he has going on.

              We're sorry you had a poor experience with our practice *****. It is office policy once an account is turned over to collections, not to continue treatment until the balance is paid. Accounts with the same insurance policy/responsible party are all flagged together. However, if a couple separates or a minor becomes an adult and on their own account with a different home address, then the accounts should be notated as such and the balance follows the patient that accrued it. If you communicated this information with the administrative staff, then this should not have happened. I will definitely pull the phone calls and use this experience as a teaching tool for our administrative staff and thank you for bringing it to our attention.
