              On April 10, 2024, I visited the emergency room at Tufts Medical Center. Here are the details of my visit:Provider: *****************************, MD Primary Payer: ******** Account #: ********* Feeling extremely unwell, I used ****** Maps to navigate to the Tufts Emergency Room. Upon arrival, I handed my Tufts insurance card to the employee at the front desk and was subsequently admitted. Several tests were conducted, and it was determined that my blood sugar level was 450, which is critically high. I was kept overnight. Up to this point, everything seemed to be in order.Two months later, I received a bill for $954 for this visit. Upon returning to the hospital to discuss the matter with the financial department, I was shocked to learn that my Tufts **************** was not accepted by Tufts Medical Center. Instead, they used my MassHealth information, which I had not provided. The financial department explained that Tufts Health and Tufts Medical Center are not affiliated.At no point during my visit was I informed that my Tufts **************** would not be accepted. Had I known, I would have sought medical assistance elsewhere. The acceptance of my Tufts **************** card at the time of admission without any indication of its non-compatibility led me to believe that all charges would be covered.I am currently unable to afford the $954 bill and was informed that there are no financial assistance options available for me. This situation is causing me significant stress and hardship.Given the circumstances, I kindly request that the bill be waived or that a suitable financial assistance arrangement be made. I provided my Tufts **************** in good faith and was not informed of any issues with its acceptance. It is unfair to hold me financially responsible for an error and lack of communication on the part of the hospital.I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and look forward to a resolution that alleviates this financial burden.

              Horrendous billing system, removed my payment plan without prior notification and "claimed" to have it in their backend and to ignore that the portal says my balance is past due. After 2 months of ontime payments they have the audacity to send my balance to external debt collections despite my good standing on payments. I have to call multiple times for them to say they will request to get the account back. Every single call I requested written documentation these changes were reflected and every single time they said they would - I've still yet to receive any of that. Horrible, will never go here again for any procedure.
