********** to place is called roberts towing , i have a 2007 ***** s40 for CT they picked my car up at 11:00pm at CVS. we were parked there less than 15 minutes. when we saw the tow truck we ran over to the car and the tow wasnt hooked up yet to the tow truck. driver was very rude and wouldnt talk to us. there is a law called drop fee where they dont need to take the car if it is not hooked up to the tow yet the tow driver did not give any information about anything and asked my if i spoke english when i started asking questions about everything. when i got to the garage place they said there was an *** to get the money out to pay (it is cash only) when i got there the *** was out of service, so i had to get another UBER to go to an *** down the street When i ended up calling the place the next day (4/11/2022) i talked to the manager. when i stated the drop fee he claimed that that is not required in MA, which is not true! they refused to give me a refund that i deserve and they are a known shady business that should be investigated.Initial Complaint

My vehicle was towed from an unmarked parking lot at the corner of *********** and *************** in Allston where there used to be a CVS that has since been abandoned. This occurred between 7:30 pm and 1 am on 08Apr2022, or early in the morning of 09Apr2022. There were no towing signs in the area that I parked in and no clear indications that it was a private lot. When I went to get my car, I was told that it was cash only, and $149 although the sign posted at the tow yard (located at *******************************************************) said the fee was $108. The man I talked to refused to give his name, and could not provide me with an explanation as to why my car was towed. He began yelling at the person with me and at one point came out of the booth screaming and I believed we were about to be attacked. He screamed at my friend and called him a "f*cking f*ggot". We paid the $149 in full in cash because I was fearful for my life. I asked for a receipt or documentation and was told to "just take your car and go", which I did for fear of retaliation by the booth worker.Initial Complaint

I parked my car behind ***************************************************. The complex is own by Ho F ***** and he has multiple empty units in there. I was parked on a semi hill, had my emergency brakes on and my car was locked. When I went to pick my car up, it was no longer there. I had no idea where the car was, there were no signs where I was parked that had a towing company's information on it. I spent hours calling the surrounding towing companies and finally got Roberts Towing LLC (aka ****** Towing, aka AB Towing) at "************" I spoke to *******. He confirmed my car was there since this morning, they towed and it was going to cost me $157.60 cash to get it out. When I to the place I asked them if the owner of the complex called them to tow my car and he simply said "they do not have to, you were parked illegal and we have the right to tow you". "I told him that I was told by the tenant I can park there because there are only 4 cars that were parked there and there other apartments are empty". He then said "no one can tell you to park there".I paid my **** and walked to my car. When I arrived at my car the door was unlocked and the emergency break was released. I pulled up to the towing office and asked them if they broke into my car because my door was unlocked and the emergency brakes were released. That's when ******* started screaming at me to get off the private property even though they towed my car and brought it to their property. Then I noticed the invoice said they took my car at *********************************************** owned by Eversource, but I was not parked at *******************************************. Concerned that my car was unlocked after they picked it up, I noticed my earrings that I just purchased were missing from my car. I tried calling them and ************************* up on me.They must be watching people park to tow them and breaking into someone's car is highly unethical. I need them to refund me my money and return/refund my earrings (which I have receipt for).Customer response
