    Hopper USA, Inc. on 4/1/24 responded to BBB with the following:

    Hidden Fees and Unexpected Charges: Hopper sees to it that all fees are disclosed during the booking process. At times, there are fees from the providers that are charged separately. For example, airlines normally charge fees for additional services like advanced seat assignments or checked bags. Hotels may also charge resort or amenity fees that are not included in the booking and are due at check-in. Hopper has no control over these fees, but we do our best to disclose these types of fees, if applicable, or advise customers that the airline or hotel may charge these separately. That said, if there are discrepancies that a customer sees either during or after the booking process, we ensure that it is corrected and we ensure the issue is resolved for the customer. We have added FAQs to help customers understand the price breakdowns and we have also improved the App UX to ensure clear pricing information.
    Cancellation and Refund Difficulties: As a travel agency, Hopper often does not have control over the turnaround time on refunds especially where travel partners may be involved. We partner with a number of suppliers to ensure customers have a wide variety of booking options. We are bound by the policies of our providers. That said, our customer service team advocates for our customers and attempts to obtain refunds when appropriate. Oftentimes exceptions are not allowed, and we are forced to stick with the agreed terms and conditions laid out in the cancellation policy which is prominently displayed to customers at time of booking.
    Customer Service Concerns: We have increased staffing to ensure that customers receive timely responses, but as an agency we cannot control the turnaround time with airlines and other partners. We also have a robust QA program, where we are constantly monitoring our agent performance to ensure they are going above and beyond to resolve customer issues. When we identify issues, we provide additional training and remove agents from the program if they are not meeting our rigorous standards.

      I am writing to lodge a formal complaint against Hopper regarding a severely mishandled transaction and their abysmal customer service.On 5th July, I canceled a booking with Hopper and received an immediate refund. I then made a subsequent booking for $2,527.35. Shortly after, I received an automated email from Hopper stating that the transaction was not processed, and a temporary hold was placed on my card, which would be reversed. However, contrary to this communication, the amount was processed.Upon contacting my bank, I was informed that the amount had indeed been processed as a purchase. I immediately reached out to Hopper, who took an unreasonably long time to locate the amount. They eventually claimed the payment was declined on their end and assured me that it would be refunded within 10 business days.Despite this assurance, the refund has not been issued. Each time I call Hopper, they fail to locate this amount. I have three confirmed emails from them stating that the payment was declined and refunded, yet the funds have not been returned to my account.This situation is unacceptable. Hoppers inability to process the refund, despite multiple confirmations, has caused significant inconvenience and frustration. Their customer service has been utterly ineffective and unresponsive.I urge the Better Business Bureau to intervene in this matter and hold Hopper accountable for their incompetence and poor business practices. I demand an immediate resolution and the prompt return of my funds.

      Hopper is a scam. Cash app and hopper. both scammed me but my question is with all these complaints on these official sites I wanna know how I got scammed? Maybe If the attorney general and the better business bureau would do their job maybe some of us would might not have been scammed. I was out of state and was left with nothing. I had a breakdown and ended up in the hospital with my minor son watching. Im angry. Is there a petition we can start to make them do their job or step down? We need people to actually do their job!!! Some of these complaints are old!!! Maybe I need to get a lawyer go after the people that dont do their job and hope the c*** runs down hill!!! I will not be scammed when it was known long ago by Better business bureau and Attorney General! My son is not the same since. And hes a survivor and the all news channels love him. Even Inside Edition. Maybe this needs to go worldwide!!! DO YOUR JOB OR STEP DOWN AND LET SOMEONE WHO WILL!!!! If I start a petition for them to do their job or step down who would sign it? I will have one done on fb?
