On 7/19/2023 my vehicle broke down on interstate 24 north (mile marker 27) due to my alternator belt snapping. I called AAA. While waiting for AAA I got a call from ********** state police asking me for my plate number. Shortly after the call a state trooper pulls up and parks behind me. While waiting for triple a huge lynchs towing wrecker pulls up to tow me. I was told by the driver that the state price called them to tow me. Once the vehicle was hooked up I was told it will be $650 dollars or it will be brought back to their lot and daily storage fees would be applied. I paid the $650 wich I thought was a bit excessive. I paid the $650 and submitted the original yellow copy receipt I received from the driver to AAA for reimbursement and my claim was rejected due to the receipt not being on a company letter head, hook up fees not on the receipt and the mileage was not on the receipt. I contacted lynch's towing and told them what the rep said and that I needed an itemized receipt. They told me they would provide one fir me. I went to lynch's towing immediately. Upon viewing the receipt I noticed it had nothing that AAA was asking for. I told the clerk that this is not going to work and that they want an itemized receipt showing how they got to the amount of $650. The clerk then said that's all he has for me. Then a man named **** came to the window and said that's all they will provide to me and wrote his number down on the receipt and said if theres an issue they can call him. I emailed a copy of the receipt and AAA told me the receipt was still unacceptable. I called and left a message for **** at lynchs towing and have yet to get a call backBusiness Response

In regards to this complaint, ******** Police called us and requested a heavy duty tow for a camper we dispatched a heavy wrecker as requested by ******** Police, the customer was given options of ******************** to his own destination or brought back to our yard and put into storage, both options where given to him and told the pricing on each way, the customer decided to have it towed to his own destination, we took it there and customer paid the few and was given a receipt with our company name on it as he has even given a copy of this with his complaint, he did come into our office looking for clarification for AAA, we gave him a second receipt that was computer generated showing amount and name for a second receipt (also that he has attached to his complaint) as far as given a break down of the tow it was done as a flat rate tow, he was quoted $650 for the tow FLAT RATE, so there is no breakdown. This is not a valid complaint as he was given all information on 2 different receipts I told the customer if AAA still had an issue they could contact me here at our office. I have yet to hear from anyone else until this complaint.Customer Answer

I was not quoted $650 the driver hooked up my vehicle and as we were pulling off I was told by the driver it's going to be $650 or it would be towed to their lot and daily fees would apply. Also I was never told that it would be a flat rate tow until I went to the office and I was told that they wont give me a itemized receipt because it was a flat rate tow. The original receipt the driver gave me did not have the company name on it as he stated wich is why I had to go to the office to get one with the company name on it. Both receipts were rejected by AAA because it doesn't show how they got to $650 their own driver is the one that told me to submit my receipt to AAA so I dont understand why their refusing to help. Also I was only about 20 minutes away from my house so I dont understand why it cost that much.

Good Morning, I will help with what ever the customer needs, but you say you did not receive a receipt the receipt you attached to this email that is yellow, is the receipt that the driver gave you when your vehicle was towed, it has a FLAT RATE $650 tow on it, the top of the receipt has our FULL name and address with phone number on it, in the picture you have some of it cut off the top and some of the side, but you have a full receipt, then when you came into our office I gave you you a computer generated receipt also. I told the customer to have AAA call me if there was a question, AAA has called us many times asking different questions on tows people submit receipts to get reimbursed. Tell me what you need and we will help you, but nothing we or our driver did was incorrect, he gave you option of having it towed to our yard for fee plus storage or tow back to your destination for a fee, you choose to go to your destination we provided a service, you paid for it and where given a receipt. AAA requested more information If they where to call me I would give them the same information you have. Send me the reference number and contact information for AAA and I will call in myself.

I did not say that I didn't receive a receipt. You can refer back to my complaint and read it again. I said that AAA rejected the original yellow copy that the driver gave me because it did not have the company name on it and it did not have a break down showing how you came up with $650. I called your office and told the rep. **** AAA said. I was told a receipt would be waiting for me when I got there. When I got there I received a receipt again not showing why it was $650. I told the guy at the window that this is not going to work cause AAA wants an itemized receipt. I was told by him that that's all he has for me. Then the guy **** came to the window and told me it's a flat rate tow and wrote his number on the receipt. I emailed it to AAA and they denied that receipt as well because it didn't show how you came up with $650. I called ******* and asked for ****. I was told he wasn't so I left a message with the rep that answered but never got a call back. I didnt call lynchs towing I called AAA to tow me. If you talk to AAA all the time as he says why is so difficult to get an itemized receipt? They have been zero help. I was pretty much left no option but to pay this amount or risk accruing more charges for a service I didn't even call them for.
