I was supposed to start classes on 06/20/2022 in Nevis week 8 of the semester that began on 05/02/2022. However, I asked for a Leave of Absence (LOA) on 05/19/2022, which was denied on 05/24/2022. As soon as I got denied the LOA, I withdrew from the school that same day of 05/24/2022. On 08/22/2022, I requested for my free unofficial grade report from MUA and did not get any response. On 09/15/2022, I paid a $35 expedited fee to get my official transcript, still no response. By this time, I was already attending a different medial school which I started in September 2022. When I applied to take a professional examination in September of 2022, I was informed by the examination body that when they reach out to MUA, they were told that I do not have a final transcript from MUA. I then called and spoke with Mr. Louis D***** on 09/27/2022 and he informed me that I was owing MUA, which I refuted as I had withdrawn. He transferred me to Mr. Bayron M******, who said the same thing, which I again refuted. He then asked me to send the LOA and withdrawal forms I had sent the school which I did. His response to my email was that they go by when the dean signs the forms and start of school and not start of class. This is false as the MUA Student Consumer Information, which I have uploaded to this complaint, under the "Refund/Withdrawal Policies" clearly states and goes by first day of CLASS and not SCHOOL. I have sent several emails and while refusing to send my final transcript, Mr. M****** keeps sending me invoice of $11, 540 or $11, 505 for a semester I did not attend for a single day. MUA does this to many students, making them pay for a semester they never attended by holding their transcripts and dean's letter ransom, so they cannot transfer to other schools unless they pay. It's the same way they hold on to our financial aid refund almost halfway into the semester. I just want my transcripts and my account zeroed out without getting a lawyer involved if possible.

This student requested a Leave of Absence which was denied by the dean of the university because it didnt meet the requirements for an LOA.

However, we did credit the students unpaid financial obligation and sent her a transcript as she requested.  We were not required to do so under our published university refund policies.

All students receive the tuition refund policies and they are published on our website.  We follow the same policy for every student.  We made an exception for this student which is not normally the case.

Im at a loss what she is complaining about.  She received what she asked for.  Not sure what she wants now.
