On 4/8/24 I was involved in a car accident. I was never ask if I wanted to call a tow company because todisco has contracts with the city so they were called. I was taking by ambulance so wasn't asked or I would of called geico roadside assistance to get my car. When arriving on 4/10/24 to retrieve my partners car we are being told that they sent two certified letters one to partner and one to the lienholder. There is no leinholder and there stating there was. So we were charge $57 for that. Its false we showed them a title no leinholder still was ask to pay. Also charged us an extra $100 for our tow truck to go into the yard which wasn't stated to me on the phone when I spoke the office manager. I believe that charge was just added because I was arguing with her. This wrong business practice. She was so un helpful and doesn't listen. It's her way or the highway.Customer Answer

Todisco Towing was called by the ***** police to get me a tow after a rear end accident. I was in shock after the accident and not thinking about potentially being scammed. They towed my car to their lot without my consent and charged me for the tow, for it being on their lot for one day, to have it removed from their lot by AAA and an additional 10 dollar fee to pay for the release of my vehicle with my credit card. My car was not impounded, nor parked illegally. Todisco is a predatory and fraudulent company. They should not be doing business let alone working with the police. I did not consent to the tow, nor for them to take my vehicle to their lot. They did not provide we with any clarity about pricing, nor did they provide me with a receipt explaining their charges.Customer Answer

On 6/28/23 our car broke down in Rt 1 north of ******. We wanted AAA to tow it, but the police arrived and the police ordered Todisco to tow the car off the highway. This was a Police Ordered Tow. The tow operator simply asked where we wanted the car towed and we said tow it to our mechanics garage in ******* (about 20 miles away). Todisco then charged us their maximum rates for the tow rather than the Police Ordered Tow rates. After researching the law I clearly understand 220 CMR ****** states: "The maximum charges established in 220 CMR ****** shall only apply to the towing and transportation of motor vehicles when said transportation is ordered by the police or other public authority pursuant to M.G.L. c. 159B, 6B or for trespass pursuant to M.G.L. c. 266, 120D. 220 CMR: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC UTILITIES Rates stated in 220 CMR ****** shall not apply to towing which results from a call made by a police officer or other public employee at the request of the owner/operator to transport the vehicle to a location other than the carriers garage. If, at the scene, the owner/operator requests that the vehicle be transported to a location other than the carriers garage, the maximum tow rate *** not apply..."My complaint is that the tow operator never offered a choice of towing destinations. He simply asked: "Where do you want the car towed." If he had given us a choice and explained the price difference we would have had him tow it to his garage and then had AAA tow it to ******* since we have AAA towing coverage. The operator never gave us that choice. Our credit card was charged $398.56 by Todisco, rather than the lesser cost as a Police Ordered tow. Thankfully, AAA has reimbursed us $275 of the Todisco charge, So, we are only asking Todisco to refund us $123.56 since they never gave us a choice about where the car could be towed and the resulting price difference. After multiple conversations/emails Todisco has refused to refund us anything.Thanks you!Customer Answer

I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint.
I communicated with the business a couple times and they refused to resolve the complaint. I told hem that I would ask the BBB to arbitrate the issue and they said that was a good idea. Seee mail from 7/31/23 below.

The fact is that the operator did not offer a choice of where the car could be towed. He simply asked where do you want it towed. Clearly we disagree and are not making any process toward a resolution. So, Ill turn this matter over to the *** and BBB for mediation.

Deceptive Business. They say they got contracted by ********* to tow non-customer cars. I went to ********* and parked at ********* parking . When I came back, my car wasnt there and got towed within 6 mins, during which I took my takeout order from subway( literally took 30seconds-it was ready and I just grabbed it), then I went to ********* next door). Just because ********* wasnt the first place I was in, they towed the car while I was in *********. Its impossible to tow my car in 30 seconds. I think they just hire someone to follow people out of their car and check if they head to ********* first thing. Very deceptive, manipulative. The employees were sarcastic and dismissive when I explained that the time I spent outside ********* was so immaterial. I was on my lunch break, grabbing my lunch and prescriptions. And spent half an hour walking to their towing space and late back to my work.Initial Complaint

This company committed fraud. They lied about the total miles that their tow truck towed my car. On the upload a picture, you can see that the odometer started and as of 12 miles, but after I complained they changed on the detail description the mile fee to 7. And only did the 12 miles exceed the minimum amount, which they can charge extra for the additional miles over 10, they also charged applicable gas that they charge a premium for on top of extra miles.
