I had my car shipped from ******* to *********** with this company. I paid them $338.00 upfront when they were picking up the car in *******. Then I was to pay then $550.00 upon delivery of the car to ************** car arrived in *********** damaged. The driver of the truck had not secured a strap that was supposed to be on the wheel of the car above mine. The metal hook caused $6,300 worth of damage to my car.We went through the Direct Express Trucking's insurance. They found that Direct Express Trucking was liable for these damages. The insurance company sent us a release that we signed. It confirmed that payments of $6,034.30 would be made to us for the damage. The release also stated that Direct Express Trucking was responsible for sending $2,500 (the deductible). The release and the owner of Direct Express Trucking, Edsen, agreed to this and said he was sending the money by check. The rest was to be paid by Great ****************** (Direct Express Trucking's insurance company). We spoke to *****, the owner of Direct Express Trucking, who said he had sent his deductible of $2,500 to us in the mail. The rest of the money was sent to us by the insurance company. Now it has been 3 months since my car was damaged. The owner, *****, refuses to answer or return my calls or texts but still owes me $2,500 for the damage his driver caused. I've reached out multiple times in order to settle this but he has not been compliant. I'm reaching out to the Better Business Bureau because I am in need of assistance. Thank you so much!
