Had my pool deck resurfaced, they had to do it twice because it came out poorly. Then I had cracking and peeling in several areas that they attempted to fix but failed. After the last repair I ended up with a section that had little or no non-skid causing it to be very slippery and people were falling. They put me off over the winter and now I can't reach them, I guess I'm screwed like everyone else. Once they got paid they were very uncooperative, thanks *************************

Date of Transaction: Contract to resurface existing concrete pool decking and new concrete walkway. Work completed on 08/26/22, approx. What the business committed to provide: They committed to resurfacing these areas with 100% satisfaction guarantee and 15 yr warranty. What the nature of the dispute is: Workmanship issues. In spring of 2023 it was it was noticed concrete expansion joints that were covered over had expanded and cracked the applied coating. Additionally, significant variances in color throughout the decking that was intended and started as a single consistent color. This was apparent in paddle strokes when applying product, brush trimming around the edges of the decking and significant color differences from where the pool deck was covered over the winter, assumed to be from fading on the uncovered portion. Has the business tried to resolve the problem: They refused to come out and look at it and provide a plan and timeframe for repairs. After over three months starting in May, they returned and attempted to make repairs. Repairs to the expansion joints were poor in quality and unlikely inconsistent with a proper repair approach - the expanision joints were cut out, refilled with an unknown product and poorly patched. No provisions were made for new expansion joints making the decking prone to failure during the next freeze. The discoloring issue was not resolved. New damage was caused by not preparing the surface properly and re-coating the entire deck over dirt, dead worms, etc. Pool cover anchors were not protected, several were removed and are now missing, two were bent during the sanding and resurfacing process. Coating over the anchors has made it impossible to unscrew some of them from the decking for the intended purpose of securing the cover. Talking with their office on 09/07/23 after raising these concerns I was told they felt the repairs were done satisfactorily and will not return. My request to speak with the owner was denied.

We contracted Idea to put an epoxy coating on our patio and paid them $15000. Our experience with Idea started positively. They came out looked at the job gave us a price and were extremely helpful in answering our questions. They offered a 15 year warranty which set them apart from other companies we spoke with. The team came out and refinished our patio in two days. The patio came out amazing it was flawless and everything we had wanted. We were extremely pleased.Shortly after install in September 2022 there were multiple areas of the patio lifting, splitting, peeling and flaking off. We reached out to Idea and were told the repairs would need to wait until spring. We accepted their answer and waited until April to contact them again. It is now the end of June 2023 and still no one has been to our home to repair the issues. We have exchanged countless texts and emails with their office, as well as sending the owner a certified letter. They have given us the run around almost every time, not once offering a hard date to get the repair work done. The best we have gotten is next week and every time the week comes and goes. We have not heard from the owner once! We are looking for them to hold up their end of the 15 year Warranty which we are in year 1 of and come out to repair their work as promised. Waiting months (since September) for repairs with zero hard dates is completely unacceptable for the amount of money we spent.

On April 18th I had Idea Painting Co. i paid $12,000. to have a no slip, epoxy grip application around my swimming pool installed. It looks beautiful, but when its wet its dangerously slippery. Someone is going to slip and fall and will be extremely hurt. I specifically asked and was told it would not be slippery! I have had them come out, they wont work with me with getting it fixed. They continue to say the grit is excellent. When its not!I would like to get another company in to fix it, and i want them to pay for it.

Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ********.

it is a pool area that will be wet and people will be in bare feet. as it currently is, its too slippery and is dangerous. since the company will not complete the project to our satisfaction we will have another company come out to correct and I would like the cost of this refunded from what we paid.

Businesses and Customers should be civil, courteous and polite in their responses to complaints. It is important to remain professional and productive when participating in the BBB complaint process.
