Dear BBB I had started a profile with Alignable and they kept hammering me with pop-*** so I ended up giving them a chance I was not impressed I cancelled right away and they charged me so I must have filed a dispute I do not recall However they got my attention with oh you have two views only to bring up the issue I found it to be very unprofessional and pathetic as they are. I decided to file a complaint I really don't care about having our presence in their network my old email billing email and profile email is *********************** I now demand a full refund since they want to be ***** about me not wanting to use their useless services

      Hi ****,

We wish you would have let us know you were not happy with the services prior to filing a dispute with your bank and creating this BBB complaint.  Alignable is all about networking and creating business relationships that lead to the big three in purchasing = Know, Like, and Trust.  We see that you did use some of the features of the **************** and per the Terms and Agreement you agreed to upon signing up for Alignable, as well as purchasing your Premium Membership, all fees are non-refundable and the services are available until the end of your billing cycle.

You are asking for a full refund, however you have already filed a dispute with your bank and they have rescinded the money from our accounts and returned it to you already.  We are unable to refund you as the bank has removed the funds.

Payment: If you purchase any services that we offer for a fee, either on a one-time or subscription basis (****************), those **************** are subject to this Agreement and any additional terms which you accept in connection with registering for the ****************. When you purchase ****************, you agree that we may store your payment information and that we may use that payment information to charge the applicable fees for the **************** (including, without limitation, periodic subscription fees for premium accounts) as they become due plus all related taxes, and to reimburse us for all collection costs and interest for any overdue amounts. Your obligation to pay fees continues through the end of the subscription period during which you cancel your subscription and are non-refundable. You also acknowledge that Alignables **************** are subject to this Agreement and any additional terms related to the provision of the Premium Service.

COMPLAINT: I accepted an invitation from a colleague to join Alignable and now I am getting emails from many of my contacts telling me that Alignable is spamming them (sending many emails on a regular basis) and using my email address and business information to try and lure them into joining the network and therefore give up their own personal information and contacts. They do not make it clear when you opt-in that they will hijack all your personal information and then spam all your contacts. Its wildly unprofessional. Now I am trying to withdraw my personal information and contacts from the Alignable database and they are asking me to provide them with a copy of my personal identification - a photo of me holding my license. There's no other way to remove myself from their horrible and useless network and to reclaim my personal information. STAY AWAY FROM THIS FRAUDULENT TRAP OF A "BUSINESS". They don't do a thing except harrass all your business contacts and therefore hurt your business's reputation as a real business.

      Hello ********,

I am really sorry to hear about your experience, and I truly appreciate you sharing this feedback. There are 2 issues here:

      Your Contact List:
We do our very best to make sure all communication on Alignable is as transparent as possible. When you click "invite" or "add to network" emails are sent out to the contacts you select. In your case, you may have invited a few or added all of your contacts. Depending on the actions you took more or fewer email invites would have been sent out. Without an affirmative action on your part, we cannot connect your address book to our system in order to invite them to join you on Alignable.  This is a completely optional part of the sign up process, and skipping it or answering "no" does not impact the functionality of the site.  We have found that our members are more successful at an earlier point if they bring their existing network onto Alignable.

At this point, I would like to provide you some assurance as to what we will never do. We will never contact anyone in our customer's address books without their permission. We do not sell or rent their contacts either.

Your concern about sharing additional personal identification for deleting data.

Your account has been completely deactivated which includes the address book you chose to connect and unsubscribing your email.  Your concerns lie in DSAR requests. While we follow strict protocols to ensure every member's data safety, your concern is understandable. I assure you, the request for identification isn't meant to be a hurdle, but a measure to protect your data and prevent unauthorized access or changes.

DSAR guidelines do allow for other methods of verification, but we choose the ** verification method and ask that you take a selfie holding it so we can verify you match the photo in the **. As DSAR allows for downloadable information we want to ensure there are no nefarious circumstances or fraudulent requests for your information.

Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ********.

Alignable does not clearly state that it will hijack your address book and spam everyone in it to try and trap them into this cycle of ensnaring small business owners. There is no service that Alignable provides (except taking your contacts and data) unless you pay them for actual services. I would never pay such a backwards and dishonest business that is created to prey on small business owners and relies on the fact that small business owners are often stretched for time and therefore won't make the effort to file a formal complaint against these dishonest practices.

After receiving several complaints from my contacts about the volume of spam that people were receiving (using my name and my business's name) via Alignable, I have shared what is happening with my network and across social media so that users can understand what Alignable is all about. For example, I wonder how ******************* would feel if suddenly, everyone in her address book started receiving endless spam from a third party organization that absolutely does not make it clear what their intentions are when they lure users in to the network.

This is very disappointing and I will not consider that this process is resolved until I receive the promised report from Alignable that details the extent of the private information they mined from me.

Complaint: When leaving the company Alignable, they required a high quality picture of a personal ID such as Driver's License, Passport, etc. for them to consider removing data I submitted to them while setting up a profile for our non-profit organization. This is unconscionable. They claim it being responsible, per DSAR standards. If they never required such for me to submit data on behalf of a company, they should never require such Personal Identifying Information (PII) from me to request the data removal. When I did a quick search about DSAR, the following was stated:The two most popular ways of verifying the data subjects identity are via email and via photo identification, while organizations also rely on login with email and password, challenge questions, and identity proofing platforms."The organization should not request more information than necessary during the verification process. You should avoid requesting formal identification documents, and if possible, try to use other reasonable ways of verification, like an identity proofing platform or email and password login."Background: I connected with the company Alignable because I received an invitation from our non-profit's executive director to do so. When I realized Alignable did not match the scope and focus of our non-profit, I contacted our executive director. That was when I discovered he was in-process of trying to disentangle us from Alignable. To state again, I have no complaint against the company's goal of net-working businesses ... It just didn't fit us.

In May'23, I was wrongfully accused of threatening a woman in my area. We had been friends; for whatever reason she chose to attack me professionally & personally by utilizing the local law enforcement & other means. This included reporting that I had acted unprofessionally during Alliance meetings held for Alignable. My Ambassador title was stripped. The worst was she was successful in getting a ****************************** place & proceeded to have me arrested each & every time I allegedly visited her profile on various social media outlets, including Alignable. Oct - Dec 23, my accuser attested under oath that Alignable had confirmed that I interacted with her profile. I confirmed with the support team that I had not. After several conversations, I was successful on 12/11/23 at getting the support team to block my accuser. However, I was arrested again for allegedly interacting on 12/28. If we were blocked then how could I still see her post and vice versa. I promoted a client's workshop and it was seen by my accuser on 12/28/23, thus she assumed I had interacted with her post. Conversation on 1/13/24 with the Alignable support team determined I had not interacted with the post. On 1/16/24 I received a notification that my account was being deactivated because "there was simply no way to keep (her) and your accounts hidden from one another..." Without conversation about what is best for my business or my livelihood, the account was shut down and all communication was ignored by Alignable. By this point the protective order, which had been extended to December 31, 2023, was void. I graciously awaited to find out if the outstanding charges would hold with Spotsylvania county. They did not. On Feb 14, I was found not guilty and on Feb 26 all charges and the protective order were vacated. I lost 492 followers, most collected during my Premium membership terms, my account & now I am blocked from even doing business for my clients on Alignable.

      Hi ********,

Alignable's terms and conditions state that we can remove anyone from our platform for any reason as we deem necessary. After months of supporting you in your request for information that we were not required to provide you, your multiple threats to our company, complaints of your behavior on our platform from other members, and the sheer volume of issues, we decided that our relationship had run its course. We refunded the month of your Premium Subscription when we removed your account and notified you of such prior to the deactivation.
You then created a new account which we removed, and then another, which again we removed.  We will no longer engage with you on these matters, the decision to remove you from the platform is final.

      FAQ

      Regards,

      ********

I am not satisfied with this response. Again, the deactivation of my account left little time to get the information needed to complete transactions and connections already in the works. There was little to no discussion about being removed from my ambassador position, and yes, at a time of being attack falsely I reacted. There's no attempt on Alignables part to seek the truth just automatic assumption of guilt. Never once any investigation, discussion or thought of humanity, empathy or support for someone that's supported the platform since inception.

Also, the account that you speak of was already in operation. TLC had been created and sitting active for more than 2 years. I, in an attempt to salvage relationships did try to find a way into my business. Why wouldn't I? It's my livelihood and a major way I was conducting business, not only for myself but others on the platform.

The only time I received cooperation and helpful response from Alignable was when I sent a request for help that included a legal request. When I stated I would speak to my attorney and follow with next steps, it was not a threat but a statement.

I encourage you to reinstate my ability to engage with the platform. I'm not asking for my old account with 492 followers back, but allow me the courtesy of building new.

Also, since the vast majority of the complaints against Alignable are that you can never get anyone to speak to you, I would find it a good business move to put someone in place to speak to verbally. Written word leaves too much space for interpretation of "attitude", inflection and a whole lot of misunderstanding. I and my attorney only asked for someone to call 3 months in a row without any response other than email.

      Hi ********,

We are sorry you rejected our response to your complaint.  However, we will not change our stance on allowing you back on the platform.  This is a company wide decision and it does not have to do with your legal issues, it is your behavior, member complaints about you (and not just ******), and your multiple threats against our company.

You also are not *********** any financial compensation as you were refunded for the month of Premium that you were removed from the platform, other payments are non-refundable per our terms and conditions as well as the fact that you used your premium benefits.

Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ********. Please add your rejection comments below; if you do not provide any details, your complaint will be closed as Answered.

I am writing in response to Alignable's recent communication regarding my complaint about the deactivation of my account. I appreciate the opportunity to provide further clarification and address Alignable's statements.

While I understand Alignable's need to maintain a fair and transparent platform, it is disappointing that they have not acknowledged the lack of due diligence in investigating the complaints made against me. These complaints were orchestrated by individuals who are clearly aligned with Ms. ********************* and have a vested interest in supporting her.

I reiterate that during a time when I was already enduring significant mental distress and physical illness, I became the target of personal and professional attacks from this specific group of individuals. Despite undergoing numerous medical treatments and therapy sessions over the past year, I have persevered through this challenging time with minimal support from those whom I have supported for years. One tends to get a little defensive when in pain, and their livelihood is under attack. So while, I own my part in not always responding in the most professional of manner to ********, I've never been unprofessional with any others on the platform, not even my accusers.

It is important to emphasize that Ms. ************************* claims against me were unfounded and unsuccessful. However, she continues to conduct business on the Alignable platform, which professes to prioritize truthful information as a cornerstone of its purpose. Furthermore, Ms. ********************* has gone to great lengths to harass me through the courts, adding an additional layer of stress to an already challenging situation.

Research the connection of all those that "complained" about my professionalism. I'm certain you will find a link back to the very individual that is at the heart of all of this.

In light of these circumstances, I once again urge the Alignable to take the most fair and decisive action:

Shutdown of the accounts belonging to ****** Call-********, *****************************, *********************************, ************************* (*********************) and ***********************, all of whom have made false accusations against me.
      OR
Allow me to create and maintain a new Alignable account, with the understanding that I will not connect with the aforementioned individuals.

I firmly believe that implementing these measures will not only rectify the unjust treatment I have endured but also uphold the integrity and fairness of the Alignable platform.  However, if necessary, I am prepared to campaign to get my profile back on the platform that I was unjustly removed from due to baseless complaints that even the county attorney acknowledged and apologized for in the end.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I trust that the Better Business Bureau will act in the best interest of fairness and justice.

Alignable sent out emails to current business contacts without my permission. As far as I was aware, I did not have an alignable account. I contacted support immediately and they said I had an account under an email from a job I had over 6 years ago. How do you have my current company information as well as all my current job contacts? This is extremely unprofessional and needs to be taken down immediately. What a scummy way to collect information and then randomly send out blast emails to everyone I know without explanation. I will never use this software. So far support has been very unhelpful.

      Hi ***,

We removed all the accounts associated with any email as well as first and last name you confirmed. We are unable to send out any invitations without you selecting to connect your address book or contact list and selecting zero, some, or all of the contacts.  You then must hit submit confirming Alignable to send invitations on your behalf. This is a multi step process.
We also cannot do this if you did not create an account as there would be no way we would have your name, your company name, your email nor the emails of contacts to send invitations to.

Looking through the support tickets, there are questions were asked that you didn't answer.  These were to see if someone else created an account for your company such as an employee etc.   If you could forward one of those invitation emails, that would be extremely helpful in nailing down another account to remove as well.

      Hi ****,

You have disputed each one of these charges with your bank quite some time ago, 13 of them have been returned to you as we did not counter the disputes. The bank is currently reviewing 6 of the disputes currently and has already removed the funds from our account.  They have deposited this money back to you as a temporary hold until they decide if the dispute is valid at which time they make the decision to let you keep that money or not.  We won 4 of the disputes as we answered their inquiries and submitted the documentation they requested which was proof that you had used the platform and received the benefits you paid for.  Per our terms and conditions, those charges are non-refundable.

The last charge was October 11, 2023 and all including this one were disputed going back to November 11, 2021. Once you dispute a charge, the funds are removed from the company's account and cannot be refunded back to you.  Most of the charges you are asking for refunds for have already been refunded back to you.  We will not be issuing any refunds at this time.

      HI ******,

Your account has been completely deactivated.  However, in order to completely delete your information in accordance to CCPA and DSAR requirements, we must verify your identity.  This is done by a photo ** and of yourself. We can compare the ** photo to you and your name etc.  We do this due to the electronic nature of our platform and the ease of which anyone could submit a request on your behalf without your permission.  This is also done due to the fact that you can request a full download of your information as well as the deletion.  We cannot risk your information being obtained by a 3rd party.

These are best practices as outlined in Osano, the program we use to stay compliant with DSAR rules.  This is the platform that gathers your information to delete it as well as deletes your request entirely.  This is handled completely by them after the Identification portion has been completed.
