On July 8, 2022, my family rented two kayaks from Provincetown Aquasports. Prior to going out, we were asked to inspect paddles and sign a waiver about damaging the paddles. An employee showed us images of broken paddles that we looked at to review. There was significant damage in the examples provided. We signed the waiver about being responsible for the paddles. After the trip completed, we brought our paddles back and prepared to leave. We left the paddles with the employees and went inside. While we were inside, the manager/ owner was rude and showed us a slight bend in the paddle that we did not even notice prior to him pointing it out. His demeanor was aggressive and demeaning. The paddles were not in our possession for a long enough time that we weren't even sure they were our paddles. In addition, the bend was extremely slight. I am hoping that this business will no longer be able to employ these practices where they have what appeared to be predetermined hidden charges. Normally, I would just request the $70 for the paddles back, but this manager ruined our family experience and I believe they should refund the entire $170.Sincerely,******************************* ************

    Hello

This customer signed our waiver form.  Attached is the customers waiver form.  The waiver form states if the customer damages equipment, the customer is responsible for the cost of replacement.  This customer brought a large dog with them kayaking.  Other employees and I watched the customer struggling with the large dog while kayaking.  The customer returned a damaged paddle when done kayaking. The customer was charged for the rental of 2 double kayaks.  $50 each.  Total $106.25 after tax.  The customer was charged $60 for "broken paddle charge".  Total charge on the customers card was $170.00.  Provincetown Aquasports has customers inspect paddles before use.  This customer even mentions this in his complaint.
